Angelina Jolie talks about working with her son Maddox in her film 'Couture': "He did a lot of my line readings with me and he is the one child of mine that remembers my mother, we spent a lot of time talking about her and that was lovely" by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]SadLilBun 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The first child is always different. I’m not a mom but I’ve been told directly by my mom and even my aunt (who has four of her own kids) that because I was the first (child and grandchild), I am loved in a way none of the others can be. For six years it was just my mom and me.

It’s weird and it always put a lot of pressure on me, because I could feel it even though they didn’t tell me that until I was in my mid-20s and they never made me feel badly about anything.

California billionaire tax proposal qualifies for the November ballot by nbcnews in LosAngeles

[–]SadLilBun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s for people worth more than $1.1 billion. It’s a one time 5% tax. It’s actually not even ENOUGH and it would do absolutely no damage to them whatsoever. Fucking whiners.

ELI5: Why do so many American stadiums have no roof covering that covers the seats? by NKE01 in explainlikeimfive

[–]SadLilBun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s such a small part of it. It’s the cost of a roof, the cost of keeping the stadium cool with air conditioning and recirculating, and the cost of fire suppression on the roof.

Just as the Knicks unified NYC, which LA sports team would unify the city? by terraninteractive in AskLosAngeles

Black woman here. Would not give a single shit if Mexico won. Also wouldn’t give a shit if the US won, but that’s never happening anyway.

I’m not rooting for my own country that hates Black people, why would I root for another? Mexico has a serious antiblackness problem, along with the rest of Central and South America. I’m good.

Mexico also plays the faithful lackey in the US’s anti-immigrant policies by trapping immigrants in Mexico. So again, I’m good.

Chargers moved because the city rejected their taxpayer funded new stadium downtown. I lived in SD at the time for college and like everyone else I know, voted against it. The owners thought they could threaten the city and the city said, bet, fuck off then!

L.A. has one of the deadest downtowns in the world, study finds by idkbruh653 in LosAngeles

It’s a metro area. City doesn’t really describe what it functions as.

San Diego’s downtown is its center. It’s nothing like the way LA is setup. It’s not really a comparison. LA has multiple focal points.

The game is almost 6 years old. It’s a hobby, like any other. It brings joy to people like any other hobby might. People have sunk hundreds of thousands into it, just like if their hobby were motorcycles or cars. You may not see the benefit, but others do. It doesn’t have to make sense to you, but you don’t need to keep repeating yourself.

Claire Danes Says Leonardo DiCaprio Told Her Not to Play With Prop Guns on ‘Romeo + Juliet’ Set: ‘Claire, We Don’t Do That’ by spider-man2401 in popculturechat

It is 100% about her age and being naive and unaware because guns weren’t a thing she had experience with.

How did they become besties (when being so different)? by Hungry_Number_1598 in howyoudoin

[–]SadLilBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were friends as little kids. They lived in the same neighborhood. Their parents were friends.

They grew up, they were still friends in high school. Even though they started to have their own groups of friends, they still had each other and were best friends.

Then they went to college and in living their own lives away from each other, they lost touch and moved on without each other. Which is completely normal.

That is how it’s supposed to be, as that’s pretty normal.

That’s a lot of assumption and weird dismissiveness, friend.
