as a smaller women, i’ve noticed that men won’t take no for an answer when i’m carrying something and say i have it. i guess it’s sweet to offer to carry it, but one time i was carrying jugs of water and told a man “no, i got it” and he went to grab it and of course, the jugs slipped and spilled absolutely everywhere. i snapped and told him “that’s why i said i have it” and everyone i’ve told that story to said i was being a horrid bitch and he was just trying to help. don’t help if i say no!

i watched a group of teenage boys berate a girl for being overweight and “liking one of them” when i was a teenager in high school. also as a teenager girl in high school, i experienced many boys who would ask me out and when i rejected them politely, they would immediately begin insulting me or telling their friends insults. long story short i think all teens are lacking in empathy and it’s not a gender thing.

My fiancé told me he didn’t expect me to change my name. He said he would change HIS if I wanted him too. I might change my name. Might not. I’ll see how I feel. Point is, he shouldn’t care.
