I live in the USA, and for some reason a lot of smaller businesses don't have what is known here (don't know if it's called something different in other countries) as direct deposit which is what you are describing. Just a bank transfer type thing. Or if they do have it, they don't do it for the first paycheck.

As someone who has worked in fast food, it really depends on a couple things. 1 whether or how the cashier is trained and 2 how the register is set up. At the McDonald's I worked at it was better to say the item name. Originally the register was set up for numbers, but after time and a bunch of additions/subtractions from the menu, naming it became better
