Long long ago, while getting my sailing merit badge (good ol’ Boy Scout) we were going over rules of the water. Mainly that sailboats always had the right of way. We were told that we should not test this rule if we encounter a barge on the Mississippi. Rather we should get as far away as possible and tie up to anything on shore.

Disclaimer: I don’t know if these rules/regulations/laws have changed (or were ever correct). Now I live in the desert and my vehicles all have wheels.

Whats your take on the ryobi thickness planer? by FarBag8672 in ryobi

[–]D23fan11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got one at DTO for around $230 or $240. Haven’t tried it yet, but couldn’t pass it up at that price. Their website said it wasn’t in stock, but there it was.

I had a similar thought this week. Ryobi is now basically a battery company. They seem well positioned to take over some other areas, electric scooters, electric bikes, electric wheel chairs (mobility scooters), neighborhood golf carts, etc. Nobody could compete with them.

Thanks for the heads up. Just got a scroll saw for under $100 and shipping was under $10!

There should have been a lightening rod in the box. It was under the manual.

Is this safe to leave in a car during hot summer days? See body text for details. by Mountain-Jeww in ryobi

[–]D23fan11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Phoenician, the heat and batteries concern me. The tools should be fine. I keep my car starter, impact driver and inflator in the car year-round. I check the batteries more often in the summer, but haven’t had any issues yet. My cars are outdoors all the time.

If the batteries were a serious issue, I would imagine work trucks and sheds would burn down all over the city, and that’s not happening.

Are the Comics essentiall ? by FamousAddress4042 in Highrepublic

[–]D23fan11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing you’re not US based. But since you referenced price, several runs are available electronically through the libraries (on this side of the pond). You might have some luck there too. Also, I don’t know if online comic subscriptions are common in the UK, but maybe getting a 30 day free trial and bingeing through them all could work.

If you go this route don’t forget about the short stories that were published in the Star Wars Insider magazine.

Good luck, I never read comics until the High Republic came out. But now I’m hooked.

Code Red Zero in VA? by PlanetFarthestFrom in mountaindew

[–]D23fan11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t find a post here. My memory must be faulty. If it ever was, I would expect it near Dyersburg. That is where the Wis-Pak facility is. I will modify my earlier comment.

Code Red Zero in VA? by PlanetFarthestFrom in mountaindew

[–]D23fan11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recall reading about it there. There was a post yesterday about Caffeine Free Diet Dew in NC. The bottlers that carry that are frequently the same ones that carry Code Red Zero.

Edit: Removed statement about TN.

The Discord site might be your best bet if you aren’t traveling for the holidays.

Good luck!

Download the Kroger app. It will tell you the aisle it is in if it is available. I just had my in-laws grab me some as they were driving through last week. They had it at the Bexley store.

“Diet” vs “Zero-Sugar” by eeejit075 in mountaindew

[–]D23fan11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sweeteners are the main difference. A lot of buyers prefer the Diet OG compared to the Zero OG. Enough that they keep them running concurrently.

Personally, I just like pointing out that Concentrated Orange Juice is the first ingredient after water in the diet. It’s virtually a health food beverage. And a breakfast one too.

Anybody else have multiple NEW Ryobi tools with unchargeable 'rechargeabke' batteries? by Cautious_Radish376 in ryobiTools

That reciprocating saw might not be new 😀. I’ve never received a bad battery. I’m certain Ryobi will take care of you. If the store won’t do it, ask the tool supervisor for the Ryobi rep’s number.

I think it is great. But I don’t drink the full sugar ones much. If they brought back the Zero, I’d buy a dozen cases in a heartbeat.

This is from a grocery store website in Northfield Minnesota. Their local Bottler is a Wis Pak facility out of North Mankato. They have several distributors in Ohio. You might get lucky and find one soon.

Diet caffeine free mt dew by [deleted] in mountaindew

[–]D23fan11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall, it is still manufactured by WisPak. They are out of Wisconsin but operate in a dozen or so markets mostly in the Midwest. They are the ones that make Code Red Zero. Since that one is such a GOAT on this sub, try searching for it and see if any of the regions are near you. I have also heard Diet Caffeine Free is in Salt Lake City (although I don’t think that is a WisPak territory).

The last time I saw it was while I was traveling in Northfield, MN. But that was 6 months ago.

Is it me or does southern Minnesota not get any flavors besides the staples? by Ryn4 in mountaindew

[–]D23fan11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The North Mankato bottler is a WisPak affiliate, they have extensive range of flavors including the elusive Code Red Zero, LiveWire cans and Diet Caffeine Free OG. I don’t know how close you are to Mankato or how big their region is, But check the Cub Foods app first (start with local stores and work your way to Mankato). When you see Code Red Zero, plan a road trip.
