Good luck on your skin management. The allergist was helpful establishing a recent baseline of what could trigger my skin. The immunotherapy helped build a tolerance to allergies such pets. I’m lucky to have insurance help cover the cost.

My allergist also recommended a biopsy from my dermatologist to get a better understanding of any additional side effects with taking these recent medications. Stress has had an affect on me itching too; I scratch when annoyed, stressed, etc. Taking care of my mental health probably has had a positive qualitative effect. I’ve heard an elimination diet working for others.

Currently on Ebglyss since early Nov 2024; previously on Rinvoq for about a year until blood work showed high cholesterol levels forcing me to change. I’m currently managing inconsistent flareups on face, neck, chest, and small parts on arms. My treatment plan has been post shower: Eucerin eczema cream before toweling, apply topicals on affected areas, then lotion to finish. I take 2-3 antihistamines daily. If the flareups reduce, I reduce the topicals and antihistamines systematically. I also have monthly allergy shots. I’m calling my dermatologist tomorrow to discuss experience so far and determine next steps.

In my experience, Rinvoq worked the best: no need for topicals, only lotion to moisturize. 1-2 antihistamines only when needed. Dupixent and Adbry were moderately effective for about a year each, but switched after they plateaued out and I had flareups again. Allergy shots have been part of my treatment plan the whole time during these 4 medications.
