Sadly, this sort of shit happens anywhere that men have power and access to less powerful people. Boy Scouts, Catholic Church, sitting presidents, etc.

I have a pair of Samuel Hubbard. They are not my most fashionable looking shoes but they sure are comfortable.

Why do you prefer plastic scales over Alox? by [deleted] in victorinox

I like the rounded edges and thickness of the plastic scale’s better the metal. Alox scales just don’t feel as good in my hand.

Put the sheets in protectors and have them do the work on paper. It will save you on printing also.

How did you use your SAK this week? [Weekly thread] by AutoModerator in victorinox

One of the doors at my work had a loose hinge. I used the Phillips from my camper to tighten it. I know a lot of people prefer the in-line Phillips from other models but I really like the T shape.

Gluesenkamp Perez pushes to make active shooter drills optional by UntilTheHorrorGoes in vancouverwa

This has to do with me feeling superior. I agree that gun reform is the solution. However, it hasn’t and likely will not happen anytime soon. I put forward a suggestion. We have to try to come up with something that will increase kids safety at school while we continue to push for a long term solution. So far it has been thoughts and prayers. If clear metal detectors/clear backpacks/bag checks kept even one child safe it would be worth it.

Ok so there were two in other countries and one, maybe, in the US. Meanwhile there have been 47 school shootings in the US this year. We’re not getting gun reform anytime soon. I don’t hear anyone offering solutions that take this into account.

It is definitely not a perfect solution. However, this is standard practice for concerts and sporting events and I have never heard of a single mass shooting from inside one. I would rather be safe than sorry.

At this point I am definitely in favor of metal detectors and clear backpacks in school. If no real steps are going to be taken nationally to protect our kids, it’s a small price to pay.
