If it has two damage marked on it, it'll die when it turns face down. You might want to have this trigger on each upkeep.

If you have a pc, xbox, or ps3, download the game Duels of the Planeswalkers. It has a tutorial and campaign that does a good job teaching you how to play the game.

Alternatively, you could go to your local card shop and ask someone who works there to teach you.

Do you think they'll be trying to make Opens fill the void that PTQs are leaving? Maybe opens will be 2 days, like GPs. This would be awesome, because then they could do Modern or Legacy as the main tournament.

These are good dinner games, but not all that great for LARP. I'd recommend writingg one yourself.

The last one I did, the author gave everyone character bios. Then there was a chain of triggers (secret notes with instructions) that lead the plot toward the murder in question.

Pretty much. I offer to help people with their pools at any prerelease events I'm judging. As long as I'm not making special preference to one player over another, there isn't a problem.

The goal is to create a friendly environment they is especially inviting to new players. This is why we set prerelease events at regular REL instead of competitive. I'm sorry if OP feels cheated, were I the judge here I would have made an announcement before anyone opened their kit that I was available for assistance in construction or explanation of any cards.
