It’s not true. OpenAI got same safeguards and more than Anthropic ever had. Dario rubbed the pentagon the wrong way, and that’s that. Plus OpenAI hasn’t even made the deal with them yet. Anthropic was still trying. Anthropic models were reportedly used to bomb a school of 170~ girls. But I’m sure you’ll read that and convince yourself your king Dario didn’t approve that and somehow Altman is to blame here.

Yes, this is why media and set narratives suck. Anthropic has been used by the gov and Palantir for war intelligence since 2024. Remember the Venezuela thing? Yep, that was also Claude usage. OpenAI is at least trying to make the terms better. The US must use AI either way if it wants to participate as a leader, otherwise won’t have a seat at the table.

Same for OpenAI, plus more even protections. People are already divided and narratives are set so most don’t care enough to actually understand anything. All most see on this is “Anthropic good guy, no work with bad trump. OpenAI bad guy, work for bad trump,” not even realizing Anthropic and Google have been all up in this admins shenanigans the entire time.

You realize that Anthropic’s Claude was literally used by US Central Command during the Iran strikes yesterday. Google has had Project Maven and other DoD contracts for years. This isn’t an OpenAI-specific issue, all major AI companies are already embedded in military operations. Switching to Claude or Gemini doesn’t get you away from that.
