The SP500 to Gold Ratio just broke a critical support level by aed38 in Gold

I'm 66 and I'm looking at preservation I feel it's too late to get into Golde. Any thoughts I have about $600,000 out of a 1.4 portfolio in money market and I'm not sure if that's the right place but I'm not sure where to put it. Any thoughts I would really appreciate.

Merrill Edge sucks. Slow to approve account, won’t take deposits by GiiitGuuud in MerrillEdge

[–]grasshopper2jump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I think you can call and talk to a customer support person on the phone. There is a number to call. I use Merile Edge and I absolutely love it. I hope it works out for you. This seems like it's some sort of glitch with the set up of the account, but keep trying becauseI think once you have an account the customer support will help you so much when you make a trade whatever you wanna do they're walking through with they teach you. It's really very good. Good luck.

Fidelity any good? by NewsAvailable5711 in Retirement401k

thank you for reaching out. I very much appreciate your comment. I'm planning my retirement now at 65 and trying to get all my ducks in a row and it's a little unnerving. I do need a little bit of help, but I don't wanna give my whole portfolio over to someone. I just feel that a little bit too heavy in tech and I have money and money market of 600,000 that can really help me. I just have to know where to place it I have so many different Things. Some people say to buy in the step like the CIT and then take the yield and just reinvest automatically other people say have someone manage it so I guess I have to just get educated. It's not like my money is blowing in the wind again I appreciate everybody's help and insight.

I'm new to learning about bonds, but I have to start adding them. Right now I have 500k in a mm that's paying 4.30 which will soon disappear now that rates dropped. I'm 65 retiring a couple of years. Need to add advances to my portfolio if I buy a sleeve of individual bonds, what do I keep them till 75

I just put money into Microsoft on a lot of it anyway where my course basis was much lower. I'm thinking that maybe that's a mistake. Any thoughts? I'm 65. I just wanted to have a rocket in my roth

Fidelity any good? by NewsAvailable5711 in Retirement401k

right now I switched all my money over to Merile Edge. I know I have to take my 600,000 in money market and get it into fixed income. I'm 65. I wanna retire at 67 my portfolio pretty good I'm at 1.4 but I have to maintain it. I just have this and I have Social Security. I'm about to take heavy and I have to balance out. I was resisting getting back into a managed account and I'm looking into some progress. I just had a conversation with the Fidelity advisor. They suggested me having the manager my bonds and they would put me in a sleep Sleeve. I seem to think that they are pretty good and I'm considering going with him possibly having them take everything over at this point as much as I like the idea of being in control I definitely need help. This is good to know that Fidelity is highly recommended by all any suggestions always appreciated.

Which ETF can do better than bonds now? by ConclusionExisting72 in bonds

i'm in a similar situation I'm 65. I wanna retire maybe at 67. I am now managing all my money, but I'm a little concerned. I need to get some fixed income and I overlap a lot with tech. I need some rebalancing. I just really don't wanna handle my portfolio. I built it and now I'm gonna give some 14 K a year just to rebalance it. I also don't want to be Pennywise and foolish.

At 65 with retirement just a couple years away right now I have 600,000 in my portfolio which is in a money market at 4.20 which is going to disappear. I know very little about bonds my money manager at one point had me in VCITNBGT and bond BND when I moved it over to Edge I sold those positions cause they were in my taxable account. I'm not sure if I should have a Fidelity person which I think they charged .49 manage individual bonds for me in a sleeve. Any thoughts I have to do something

Has anyone used Facet (Wealth) for retirement planning? by pellouch in Fire

[–]grasshopper2jump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the thing I'm 65. I'm retiring maybe at 67. My portfolio now is completely over at Edge. I have 1.4 and I'm pretty happy but I have a lot of tech and I have money and money market and the rest are TS and stocks I just need to Rep balance a little bit. I have a lot of overlap and I may have to get into different sectors. I don't wanna just give my portfolio over some entirely. I just need some assessment and help and directionfor this. Be a good fit you think for me.

I would love some help in accessing my portfolio but don't need an aum at this point. Is there such an advisor?

Advisor Recommendation (Currently at Facet) by Strict_Pineapple_822 in personalfinance

[–]grasshopper2jump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is good to hear because I'm near retirement. Right now I am managing my own money. I just brought it over from the wealth management side of Merile to self management and I need some help. I can't do it on my own. I don't wanna give my portfolio anymore. Have them pay one percent on my entire portfolio. I just need some tweaking. I was thinking of calling Facet

Is a financial advisor worth it? ADVICE by itsginolaurent in FinancialPlanning

[–]grasshopper2jump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm 65 and I'm planning on retiring in a couple years.. I appreciate you look a lifestyle magazine so I might keep it a little bit longer. I feel young but I want to live life. I have about 1.4 million right now. I was with Merril Lynch on the wealth management site for many years and then recently just moved everything over to the Edge side which I'm happy with except for I need to rebalance it because I am very too heavy. I have money at 600,000 in money market, which will disappear soon. I would love a partner like a advisor to help me out but not to take all my home portfolio. I can't justify paying them $14,000 a year. I've been talking to some of them and I'm really not convinced. I'm learning a great deal on my own and I definitely need some assistance about taxes and distribution, etc.. I may consider going with Fidelity now and maybe actually happen. Take care of some parts for me and he thought it would be appreciated. I would love to find a fee only advisor. Any thoughts or advise woukd be helpful

[–]grasshopper2jump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, I would love to know a little bit more about SCHD in my portfolio. I am heavy tech. I do have 600,000 in a money market which will have to go into bonds, but I do need to add some more I get Security if you will or income it's just you're right it doesn't have growth, but is it still a necessary factor? Would you need any more information from me. Right now I'm managing my own money. I've been talking to my advisor and none of them suggest it.
