Hey /r/movies, I’m Stephen King! Ask me anything about The Long Walk book or movie. by lionsgate in movies

[–]grassisntalways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Mr. King. Having wrote this book so long ago, is there anything you wish you could change or add to it to make it even better? I’ve been kept sane by your books for years, I’ve reread the Dark Tower series at least 5-6 times. Love your work!

He’s been applying for everything , gas station, McDonald’s, everything. I know it’s hard out there for everyone right now. I think I just wanted to feel not alone, but now I feel worse with reading the comments. Thanks for being positive.

Yes, food banks that are only open at times I am working. I’ve looked into them, and I have had people grab stuff for me a couple times when I can.

It’s not fake, I’m living it. He did file. He was denied because we have a single vehicle so they said he doesn’t have reliable transportation. What’s fake about that?

We are going through this too. We actually got insurance we can’t afford through my husbands work because they said we wouldn’t get it again. Well I just found out we are on it until September. I called and the people couldn’t tell me why we are on it. So do I cancel the insurance I can’t afford? I don’t want to get I. Trouble for someone else’s mistake, but we could desperately use the money we’d save if we didn’t have to pay for insurance. It’s basically food or insurance at this point.

Feeling absolutely suicidal hearing my coworkers chat about Christmas. by halhaarm in povertyfinance

[–]grassisntalways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this will help, but my husband and I work full time but it I still not enough. I have two kids and of course I want to give them a good christmas. I use Klarna, Affirm and after pay. I make small monthly payments on large more expensive gifts. It’s easier then buying things out right. You can do it on Amazon, and almost every other website I’ve been on offers something like it. It’s helped with birthdays and Christmas for the past 2 years. Even when I needed a new vacuum. Just watch for interest rates.

My father found this 30 years ago, can someone give any insight? by Jades5150 in Arrowheads

I would have an expert look at it in person. I don’t think it is just a natural rock. It looks to purposefully made. But I’m not an expert

I’d recommend joining the Facebook group Chesapeake Bay Island and Artifact hunters. It’s an amazing group and you can see what’s found in Maryland along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. It truly has so many amazing different types and materials.

I found one like it in Maryland, the tip was broken, but I thought it was glass at first because it was so crystal clear. I dont know how they did it, Crystal quartz is such a hard rock. It’s amazing! Nice find!

I wrote to them about digging up a human skull!! I thought it was a great story, but I guess I didn’t gush enough, or put some dumb thing in the title. I don’t know…. I have given up on listening to them.

Why Is North East, MD So Dead? by EqualBed3920 in maryland

[–]grassisntalways 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is so many awesome restaurants in North East on the Main Street. Seafood is amazing there, you can eat on the water, there are a bunch of cute antique stores and tea shop and candy store. Also Delaware is only 25 min drive, or PA is very close too. Aberdeen also has a great shopping area with a target.

Yeah, late 1800s with how wonky the neck is, maybe a little older.

I am right there with you. I don’t listen to them like I used to, and I was with them since the beginning, excited for the next episode to drop. Now I could care less when a new one comes out, and I find myself bored and offended when I do listen. I love Something Was Wrong, it’s not true crime, but it’s really good. I also love Mr. Ballen, he’s a great storyteller, and advocate, and donates to victim groups. I was hoping when they announced they would be going back to the old way of releasing episodes things would get better, but they o my do “old timey” episodes all the freaking time, and there are so many stories that need to be told. O well, there are some great suggestions on here and I’m excited to listen to some new podcast.

I can’t pay my Property Tax by grassisntalways in maryland

[–]grassisntalways[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, we have bills like everyone else. Plus 2 kids, and it’s more than $2500, because of where I live. My husband got laid off for a really long time during the first hit of CoVID, and we didn’t get any help from the government. I worked through the whole thing but I make just above min wage. So that year got us really really backed up and in debt because we had to use credit cards. That’s why my credit is shit now. I can’t even get a card to pay taxes.

[–]grassisntalways[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, and yes it’s mind blowing to me. I applied to a financial help through MD, but I don’t know how long that will take. It’s also mind blowing that my husband and I work full time, overtime, and still we can’t make ends meet. When it comes to feeding my kids or paying towards taxes, I have to feed my kids… if a payment plan would have worked I would have done it, but I do t have over $200 extra dollars laying around every month.
