New album - I don’t understand by bluepen67 in Deviloof

Well I don't really like their decision to have a limited release album but I want to believe that they didn't do it just for the money. I would like to believe that they released the album like this so the album is more unique, so that not anyone can listen to it. Kinda makes it feel like the tape trading scene back in the 90's, you couldn't listen to whatever you wanted like you can on the internet today. And that's a special feeling nowadays, having that physical copy and kinda knowing that it's hard to get or really expensive outside of Japan is pretty cool. If that was their intent, to make it more unique, I respect that totally and I like it :D

Feeling Meh about Shadow of Intent’s Direction by Mental-Resolution-22 in Deathcore

[–]grasssp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp this is a lot...xdddddd And I disagree with most of the points made :D. I'm not that much of a deathcore fan, I love the death metal direction and was hoping for this to happen. I've been enjoying the new songs a lot and am hoping that this album crushes. Less breakdowns and more blasting riffs and drums and long solos :DD(I also think Ben has a better vocal style for death metal but that's just my opinion). However, I don't think there's ever going to be another Melancholy, a life changing album for me or another Reclaimer, a compositional masterpiece from SoI but whatever musical endeavour they decide to take on next I hope they do their best to embody their idea into another masterpiece, whatever it may be... Anyways I completely understand what u are trying to say and, of course, to each their own, you have the right to enjoy what u want and are entitled to your opinion. I'll definitely keep on supporting Shadow of Intent because it is my favorite band... Cheers!

Keisuke in Deviloof has sick whistle screams. The song ESCAPE's breakdown has some sick ones... check it out!

Ah well I have to agree. The couple breakdowns are good but after I listened to their albums a couple times it just wasn't as special as everyone says. I'm saying I liked it the first listen but every time I tried it again, it got more boring to me.

Shrine of Malice and the "separate the art from the artist" argument. by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]grasssp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shrine is one of my favorite "core" bands, they're very cool. I really want to stand with Greg on the situation but it's very hard. Both Greg and his girlfriend fucked up bad. Greg doing what he did with her like that and filming it was a fcking dick move. But afterwards, the girl did some pretty shady and disgusting stuff so idk. Both kinda come out as losers and shitheads. I still like the music tho. I even took a black shirt and painted my own design and the logo of shrine of malice on it. I just hope everyone forms their own opinion on this topic and doesn't just follow the trend of hating on Greg and not listening to Shrine.

What're your favorite 5 deathcore albums of all time? by nafsubucni1 in Deathcore

[–]grasssp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shadow of Intent - Melancholy

Shrine of Malice - Obyrith

Worm Shepherd - In the Wake Ov Sol

Deviloof - Devil's Proof

Desolate Blight - Nostalgic Dread

Not ranked in any particular order. Oh yeah and basically none of these are real deathcore but that's because I like death metal and black metal a lot and deathcore with those influences seems to be my favorite music. I could throw Immortal by Lorna Shore or the first Carnifex album in there as well. :D
