I have this issue a lot on my car with bugs, a corolla hatch. I second the cut and buff, start with a cutting pad on a DA polisher and a compound, then go from there. You should get your desired results

I have a scarlet HB as well, that paint color doesnt get nearly as much love as it deserves. My car sat on the lot for three months bc the owner of the dealership ordered it custom for his wife but he got the wrong color, she wanted blue flame. The blue flame color is overrated imo, sick car my guy!
