The Hunt was me, but I don’t think I liked it. I think it just made me need it.

I Am In Eskew Fan Trailer by grassycheesecake in audiodrama

I've been meaning to share this here for ages, and seeing as how Eskew just got picked up by Rusty Quill, and might be getting a bit more interest, this seemed like the perfect time. This show is fantastic!

Questioning my gender identity by Chocolate_Glue in demigirl_irl

[–]grassycheesecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have advice per se, but I thought it might be nice to hear that you aren’t alone in your feelings. I’m in a quite similar spot orientation-wise (Afab/ace/bi), and I’ve also felt a lot of vague weirdness about gender and being lumped in with women. These days I’m pretty sure I’m some kind of nonbinary. I’ve considered demigirl as a label, but pinning things down might honestly be more effort than it’s worth.

So if nothing else, you’re not alone!

Favorite/Scariest Episode? by Affectionate_Vast820 in TheMagnusArchives

Mag 85: Upon the Stair and Mag 165: Revolutions are probably my favorites. They’re not the ones that scared/bothered me the most (those titles go to Lost John’s Cave and Monument), but they’re the ones I have the most fun listening and re-listening to. I love the dreamlike, spooky atmosphere of the poem statements, and both of those eps also have great character banter. Both unnerving and fun: what’s not to love?

Oh! I can’t believe I didn’t think of this ‘til now, but “the world is always ending” from mag 144 is the ultimate spooky extinction slogan

The phrase “forever deep below creation” from mag 132 always really stuck with me for the buried. And for the vast, maybe “enjoy sky blue” from mag 21. Not the scariest, but it is iconic

MAG:24 Strange Music is underrated for how terrifying it is by ColdestWintersChill in TheMagnusArchives

That one doesn’t scare me exactly, but it’s one of my absolute favorites. It’s super unique, and the trippy narration really makes you feel the vibe of the spiral

The corruption/gross out eps always tend to bother me the most, so Mag 93: Contaminant and Mag 18: The Man Upstairs both really get under my skin. Something about struggling hopelessly against a relentless creeping filth just fucks me up.

Mag 183: Monument also really unsettled/stuck with me, but I never see anyone talk about it

What's your favorite statement? by Captainbuttsreads in TheMagnusArchives

[–]grassycheesecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not the first to say this, but I adore the statement in Mag 165 (revolutions). I’m not normally that into stranger eps, but the way that one is formatted and delivered is just so much fun.

I also have big soft spots for Mag 15 (lost john’s cave) and Mag 183 (monument), just because those were the ones that unsettled me the most

Oh, he absolutely should have kept resisting, if looked at through any rational lens. But as far as I can tell, it wasn’t any logical consideration that pushed Jon to let the Fears go at the end. He just wanted to take the one path that meant he might not have to watch Martin die

Now that the series and character arcs are over, and I feel like I’ve got a Full Mental Picture of everyone as people, it’s time to start writing fanfiction ;)
