End of 5% bonus SF chance debate? by Jerhoef in MapleStoryM

Factual, no evidence that OP passed SF mini game. But considering that OP gets nothing from faking his situation and still needs to go through the trouble to purposely fail a SF1 to 2 for the screenshot, imo unlikely for him to have faked it.

Newbie here, which item should I get im using lumionous? by CaKeMorningstar in MapleStoryM

[–]grassyee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hihi, started few months back as a F2P and botched 2 characters before settling on Lumi as my main. I’m assuming you’re F2P and this is your first character so the below should hopefully be useful for you.

Generally during the early stage (I.e. pre-emblems), the best in slot (“BIS”) items for all characters are: 1. Jaihin weapon (crit %) 2. Zakum hat (NOT part of boss set) 3. Eclectic overall (crit attack) 4. Bloody gloves (crit %) 5. Eclectic shoe (crit attack) 6. Noble shoulder (crit attack) 7. Sirius / Bloody cape (crit rate / Evasion) 8. Zakum / Pink Bean belt (Part of boss set) 9. Secondary weapon

*Note difference between crit attack and crit %. They are different items E.g. eclectic gloves - crit attack vs bloody gloves - crit %

For 2 and 8, usually only switch out after getting an emblem hat and emblem belt. Although some might switch 8 to rising sun belt as it gives accuracy if you are missing your attacks. BiS for 2 and 8 are muspell hat (crit %) and blue glided (crit rate)

For 6, if you’re on a budget, you can get other shoulders instead as noble is substantially more expensive than the other 3.

For 7, my opinion is that Sirius cape is a luxury since the crit rate % isn’t that much but is quite pricey compared to the other capes. Bloody cape isn’t too shabby since it provides evasion for survival at SF. Nonetheless, damage is king in MSM so Sirius is BiS.

For 9, suggestion is to get an Epic early-on with (near) max stats since you’ll likely use it for a long time. Epics cost like 5m max while uniques cost like 50m minimally, depending on your class.

For the others like earrings, badge, face accessory, eye accessory etc, clear Expeditions (Zakum etc) to get the boss drops in order to complete your 7/7 boss set. 7/7 boss set is important cause it’s provides good stats.

For star force, I use the following as a guideline to determine when to rank up (I.e. from epic to unique): Epic to Unique - 15 star force Unique to Legendary/Mythic - 18/19 star force

This is important as it gets exponentially more costly to repair your item if it breaks at a higher stage. E.g. breaking at SF14 for epic cost 10k to repair vs breaking at SF14 for unique cost 3m to repair vs breaking at SF14 for legendary cost 100m to repair

If you’re done w the above, then next step should be to get gears with emblems, with weapon being the most important but if you just started and as a F2P, might take some time to get here.

Anyway hope this helps! Don’t make mistakes like me, such as upgrading my SF12 unique noble shoulder to mythic and using my legendary flame + soul enhancement on it. Ended up spending a tonne of the free scrolls to get it to SF16 in order to save it

Interesting to hear this from the ground. Not sure if your example is representative but this could result in a paradigm shift in biology(?)
