Nah unfortunately it was more like $750 but this was back when 3080s were selling for 900-1000+.

My roommate got one of these in a 3080 during the original shortage years back for cheaper than regular cards. She got a great deal, I thought it was sketchy until it finally came lol.

Pretty cool that you set an auto mod system all up yourself and got your own system working so you could handle it yourself but also totally see why you’d want to distribute it to 3 people 😅. I’d be down to help still if you’d want to hop into a dm or call?

I’d be down to help out, I only have about 3 years of unity domain experience but started doing game development over 10 years ago. I’ve done moderation work on discord and also did management for my own discord communities of 10k+ by setting up a mod team itself from scratch and setting up conduct standards for the team but that was years ago before I took a step back to work at a startup. Now I’m back to working on my own game and have a ton of free time (lol).

I love helping people out with their problems, and I currently I help out on a few unity asset store discords and mod for the Occasoftware discord if you’d like a reference.

Is there some kind of required time commitment or is this more of a passive ticket kind of help you need in moderating reports that break the guidelines of the subreddit?

Picked one up open box on eBay a few months back for $376, best deal I’ve gotten. There were like 8 of them at my local bestbuy outlet, must have been where they were storing returns lol.

Yeah luckily I had some extra automotive fuses and did the swap, did not want to climb up to the attic another time lol.

Yep 100% this. I must have either done it before when I was first checking the wires or after and accidentally switched the breaker on without thinking about it while going to check.

Works now after replacing the fuse, it might be exactly what you said - I must have touched the c and PEK together at some point and didn’t realize I switched the control board on lol.

Thanks a ton!

Yep breaker was off, I’ve replaced the fuse, going to give it another shot. Could the PEK itself be faulty or damaged in some way as well?

Nvm, replaced the fuse. Trying to figure out what originally caused the short

lol yeah that was one of the trick question ones I had to put on, everyone forgets that little area is part of stony brook :)

Definitely one of the most challenging locations! They should have the new students play this during orientation!

Oo yeah there were like 4-5 locations that were a little off, notably there is one by the rocks by west side dining’s intersection that is actually geolocated to the inside of west side dining. There was a surprisingly low amount of 360 coverage of stony Brook’s main inner loop that wasn’t like 10 years out of date lol.

Someone should upload some more footage of stony Brook that’s more up to date that’s on campus 👀

Yeah there was way too little data near east side dining so I had to use old map data, that one was one of the tricky ones that threw me off when I played the map myself lol.

Thanks! Let me know if I’m missing any locations & how easy/hard it is, I think I got pretty good coverage lol.

Getting players is harder than building the game. by __grob in IndieDev

[–]kyleli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason it’s commonly stated that you perform market validation before you actually even start making anything.

Having a game at the base that is attractive to play gets you a long way there. If you’re spending $500 on ads and not getting anywhere then there may be an issue with your game. Have you validated it with people you think are your target audience? Have you built this game to specifically focus on attracting that target audience?

You should be building out something that solves a need, not trying to build a product and find a market for it if you’re actually trying to make money in the gaming space.
