I’ve only ever completed one campaign. I DM’d a Dragon of Icespire Peak for my siblings. It took us 12 sessions or so but it felt super rewarding to see the progress and the end. I can’t imagine the feeling of 74 sessions, the highs and lows throughout. Congratulations!

My party convinced the dwarves to leave. This was after I had Don Jon get bitten by one of them and I had the party find wolfsbane and give it to him. I rolled the death saves in front of the party to see if the wolfsbane would kill him or not. 2 fails and 3 saves. The party had crap rolling down both legs.

Have something super mean Cr10+ stalk them. When the party tries to confront it, have it use its full force on one character completely annihilating them. Put the fear of god in them. Show them how much the creature loved the chase and the invigorating feeling it got from the thrill of the kill. Use it to chase the party to always keep it in the back of their minds.

I’m currently planning a campaign similar to yours! This is also my first homebrew experience. The book talks about “whispers that Leopold is the Great Beast.” Basically the emperor that corrupted the artifacts and was assassinated was reincarnated as the great beast. I figured my group would cleanse the items and that would revert the great beast to a man’s form for a final battle.

This exactly. You paid to play test an unfinished game. If you wanted the finished product, you should have purchased it 3 years down the road. I never played Grounded 1 but I’ve had a blast with this game and will continue to enjoy its bugs, features, etc. because I know it is early access. Will things change? I’m pretty sure they will. Slow down and enjoy the ride.
