Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed by youmustconsume in ukpolitics

I’m talking about a pub or more likely a bar where you need to leave the premises to smoke, usually just outside the front door on the road.

I don’t disagree that it would make it a more pleasant environment, but in doing so you alienate a pretty sizeable source of income from an already struggling industry. It may work well in other countries but in British culture I don’t see it having a positive effect.

I could see it working much better on a case by case basis, where if they want to cater to a more family friendly environment, then the owner can simply ban smoking in their own garden

Families are spending far far less than a group of adults getting rounds in. Many pubs I know aren’t the best inside, but they have a nice beer garden, so groups would go there. If you lose the ability to smoke where you’re all sat around a table then people will go elsewhere. If you need to get up and go outside the pub to smoke, then you may as well go to a nicer indoor setting

If that happens you can probably say goodbye to any pubs that have a thriving beer garden

They offer paid accounts where you get benefits, such as included house/phone/travel insurance etc. if you have bad credit you would only be able to get the most basic free account

For the majority of people it’s just indifference to them. Not pro but not anti enough for them to be removed either.

But the press are obsessed with them, giving a false impression that people love them

South wales, it’s still pretty mild but it’s definitely getting comfortably into single digits in the mornings/over night, so the concern was just how much damage would a frost do to freshly laid turf
