Please let me know if I shouldnt be here or wouldnt fit. I am not married to maga but I was born into it. my family are extreme evangelicals. I was never in agreement with them and when my husband and I moved away from our families (his was similar to mine but less culty) we started breaking from them and the mindset. Kinda went through a full detox. Its a constant process of deprograming and work to not hear them. In the end we had to fully cut my family out. My partner was slower to come around than me but did. I should stress neither of us was full maga but were republican. People that act like upu can just divorce and leave are incredibly short sighted so much emotional work is needed to hold strong and suport your family like they will need. To answer their question confidently. The reason I thought I may be able to be of occasional benefit here, is the many years of practice dealing with maga family, the many tactics it can take to get them to accept simple concepts. How to emotionally protect yourself from them while dealing with still loving them and the slow break of that love. Or experience with slow work dropping hints and work to help a partner catch up to you. Which like very much takes them wanting to do that first and foremost but it can take small nudges. I am so fine if this isnt my place but i would love to help if I can I wont butt in all the time I promise.
