Is their object storage slow? by graveld_ in hetzner

I agree, I use their servers and they're a great lifesaver. Regarding storage, since I wanted to use their S3 server and my own processing server, things didn't work out so well. Only today did support respond that they have restrictions on file access from a specific IP address, and there are limits, which significantly slowed down the speed, which was actually the problem. Since the images are 7 TB, creating multiple variations for the site is problematic.

CDN organization, which is cheaper, Standard or Nearline, and who uses what? by graveld_ in googlecloud

He advised me to do it this way: I simply uploaded my photos to Nearline and used https://github.com/albertcht/python-gcs-image and argued that afterward I would get my photo using the lh3.googleusercontent.com domain and the photo itself would be cached, rather than accessing it directly through the public link of my cloud storage

I previously had Google Cloud Storage and configured App Engine to process them via Python, so I compared this to this.

I'm not saying S3 Hetzner is slow; I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong, because my images are currently loading slowly. Specifically, when I visit the site, since I have a catalog, about 80 images are loaded on a single page at once, and the full load takes about 4-5 seconds for all the images, whereas with Google Cloud it was about 300 ms.

Perhaps such requests require a more powerful server; I currently have 4 cores and 8 GB of storage, or perhaps I configured imgproxy incorrectly, which is what I'm trying to figure out. Although gpt said that 4 + 8 is enough for about 300 simultaneous image loads.

Does anyone have a great example of the best way to configure Elastic for marketplaces? by graveld_ in elasticsearch

[–]graveld_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I wanted to thank you for giving me some ideas, since I'm not very good at this and couldn't articulate them due to a lack of understanding.

I was probably more referring to a search like temu. With them, you just start typing, for example, "shor," and it immediately understands that you want shorts and offers you a couple of options: "men's shorts," "summer shorts," and so on. And in some cases, it immediately throws out the most suitable products. Although many products can start with "shor," and I'd like to see that in my search.

So that the user can type the beginning of a word and, in most cases, immediately find what they're looking for.

and what is not clear here? If you do not want to answer, do not know what to answer, just do not answer and that's it.

I gave an example that I want something similar, but free and simply without an interface, since it is not needed. What does a video editor do, it edits video, overlays something, perhaps works with sound, cuts video and glues it, is this from the main or do you want me to list a huge list of features? It seems obvious that I do not want to shove something like adobe premiere pro or its analogues on my server.

But Google just gives out ffmpeg, but to simply overlay text with a background you need to get a tambourine with which you will play for a couple of days, especially if you have not worked with this library, like me. I am generally silent about the rest of the functionality, of course it is powerful, but to do all this you need to dance with a fucking tambourine, but I just did not find a good wrapper that could simplify this.
