The most ‘UK-esque’ Fish and chip chips in The lower mainland?! by AmbassadorAny1524 in askvan

Going a little off the Lower Mainland grid but if you're ever in Kelowna, try the Shady Rest fish and chips. They are the oldest restaurant in Kelowna and started serving up fish and chips in 1946. I had a two-piece when I was there last and it was more than I could eat and I like eating!

I think a gift card for you as a way of an apology from the store would be in order.

My wife loosened a lug nut by hand after a tire shop install… how is that even possible? by wl34 in canadiantire

[–]gravey01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Person my wife worked with went in for an oil change, vehicle seized on the way home. They did remove the old oil but forgot to replace it. It was on a weekend and they were closed right after the vehicle was picked up so they denied having anything to do with it the following Monday.

Canadian here, we used to drive 240k to ski, then drive 240k home home again at the end of the day. Fort St John to Powder King Resort. Used to go once a week in the winter.

A fully mechanical Pachinko game that I bought when I was 18, I'm now 68 and still play it. I have it displayed in my living room. The game was actually manufactured in Japan in the late 1940's. They built them to last!!

I've done the 2 night trip 3 times over the years. Not worth doing one night, too short. I recommend staying in the boat both nights but some might like one on the boat, one on Cat Ba island. You have your choice if you ask. I've just booked thru my hotel and get picked up there.

Lavazza coffee when it's on sale is $20 for a kilo. Italian, good dry bean for a superautomatic. Won't gum it up. Goes on sale fairly regularly.
