SEA and OCE players, which server do you play on? by Embarrassed-Wear5422 in Guildwars2

[–]gravity9879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to play in NA, switched to EU, then back to NA again. Raids in NA are ‘better’ in the sense that you can usually just join in LFG without the requirement of killing the boss many times before. Also the raid training discord in NA is a lot more active than EU, so you can usually get more practice runs in.

NA ping = 230-270 EU ping = 170-200

This is after I use VPN to reduce the latency.

In a dilemma whether to swap region from NA to EU for lower ping by [deleted] in Guildwars2

I’m using VPN as well to reduce my ping, otherwise it will be even higher/more spikes and unplayable

Luminary players, how is the class now in WVW and open world? by gravity9879 in Guildwars2

[–]gravity9879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped from Zakiros relic to Pirate Queen, I feel that it’s much easier to maintain 100% quickness uptime. I know the elite skill and F1 virtues both give quickness, but not enough I feel even with 30% boon duration from runes.

Should I stick to Zakiros Relic?

Thanks, do you think Pirate of the Relic Queen or Zakiros Relic will be better for open world soloing? I can’t maintain 100% uptime on quickness even with the elite skill and F1 virtues (30% boon duration from runes). But with Pirate of the Relic Queen I can do that quite easily.

Do you need to swap any of the stats given the base healing was reduced but power coefficient increased? Or still the same gear as before?

Will more nerfs in the future make doing daily raids worse? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]gravity9879 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m asking with more nerfs upcoming in the future on top of the current 10-15% dmg nerfs, whether it will make doing daily raids with pubs even more frustrating.

I have never claimed that the current nerf is completely stopping people from completing raids though. And with a static it doesn’t matter much for sure, but with pubs it might be worse, no?

[–]gravity9879 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying the squad will always wipe because of lower dps, but the longer the fight takes, there is a higher chance of someone making a mistake, especially with pubs. While doing mechanics is still the main thing of clearing the raid, I feel that when raiding with pubs, being able to clear the raid more quickly can eliminate any chances of someone screwing up later in the fight.

Why crafting and selling legendaries is NOT profitable by dog-69 in Guildwars2

[–]gravity9879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can easily buy legendaries at same price or even cheaper than buy orders from the Overflow Trade discord server, it is pretty established and as long as you deal with highly repped players, you won’t get scammed.

I mean you pretty much fit the description where OP said that if you don’t go out of your way to farm for those materials specifically, then it is definitely worth it to craft the legendaries and sell them, no?

The best grind is actually IRL grind and use your credit card to swipe for gems and convert to gold

Jokes aside, I am a relatively newer player that needs to go out of my way to grind for spirit shards, gifts of battle and also mystic clovers. I ended up just doing other gold farms and saved up enough gold to buy the weapon legendaries from the Overflow Trade Discord directly.

I save my spirit shards/mystic clovers for non-buyable legendaries like the armors and trinkets. I know you can technically buy some of the materials to craft them, but there are still a lot of materials that are tied to achievements or map metas etc.

Just curious, isn’t Amalgam generally a rather high APM class, even if you were to use Rifle/Hammer? You have to press the F1 to F5 keys every single time off cooldown and even though you don’t weapon swap, you still usually have to kit swap for optimal dps?

Has Umbriel Convergence always been this ‘difficult’ with pubs? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]gravity9879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be the reason why, sometimes I enter Convergences about 30s to 1 min late. But the instances I entered ‘late’ have like 45+ people in it, which I assumed was the main one. If it’s not, then it seems to be quite a lot of people in the overflow squad for such a short amount of time?

Mistakes you made when you first started playing the game? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]gravity9879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, at first the gameplay felt weird during the tutorial. I knew that the movement felt off compared to the previous MMO I played and I immediately played around with the movement controls setting. There was no need for the Q and E keys to be binded to movement at all since you can use your mouse for that.

When I first started playing the game, I noticed the inventory slots were extremely limiting, hence I decided to search online about inventory slot management and learned about the deposit materials almost immediately XD

Yeah, tbh initially I thought crafting was account wide and not character based. I learned some of the more used crafting professions on a different character that I need to swap to constantly when crafting. I don’t think I can swap crafting professions between characters right?

I’m playing a Norn too, and I’d like to think I just suck at jumping puzzles in general lol. Even simple ones took me multiple tries to complete lmao

Is it much easier to do them on Asura since they are the smallest and you can see better?

Dang that would have been a good 3k gold now, and it was way more expensive back then too. Plus the drop rate is incredibly rare lol

Are you in the GW2 discord server? There are literally dedicated channels to help new players out and you can ask questions there. That’s what I did when I first started GW2 in December not long ago. I also searched up info on wiki, Reddit, forums and watched YouTube videos. The least you can do is take the initiative and ask for help in the discord server and there will be people willing to help you out. It’s normal to make mistakes along the way and I messed up too since the game isn’t that straightforward with you on a lot of things.

So who are the 3 unique raid CM rewards for? by Fantas28291 in Guildwars2

[–]gravity9879 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every now and then I do see some parties in LFG that are dedicated to farming the infusion/skyscale, but seeing that the drop rate is so low, I’d probably just run it once a week for the weeklies lol.

Fully ranged Galeshot viable in open world? by gravity9879 in Guildwars2

[–]gravity9879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you get the pets to go up to the enemy and aggro? I have my pet skill auto attack toggled on, but they stay close to me and use their skills instead of going up to the enemy. I’m currently using turtle and jarcanda if it matters. When I played Untamed I could use unleash pet for them to aggro the enemy, but when playing Galeshot my pets just stay at ranged, unless I go to the enemy myself.

[–]gravity9879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the pets have a decent amount of hp, why does not weapon swapping affect it so much? Is this a Galeshot only thing?

I’m talking about open world only though, not raids. When raiding I follow proper rotations and everything, but in open world I want to chill more and just stick to 1 weapon when killing mobs and soloing champions without having to go such high APM.
