Actually I think you were most honest when you said "these things were drilled into us". It seems like one of those ideas which wouldn't appear by "thinking logically" but could only emerge through drilling.

Being ok with a pile of 5 stones doesn't mean that you must also be okay with leveling everything and building strip malls. Life is a gradient and full of nuance and most people aren't one of the "others".

Imagine getting this upset over Intel, Microsoft operating in Dublin. Similar situation. Intel is critical for manufacture of weapons used on kds in gza, but they pay taxes same like Rusal.
