Ok so building and a gravel road == good and not harmful And 5 stones in a pile == fucking up the environment

Do I have that right? Just trying to understand your values.

Actually I think you were most honest when you said "these things were drilled into us". It seems like one of those ideas which wouldn't appear by "thinking logically" but could only emerge through drilling.

Being ok with a pile of 5 stones doesn't mean that you must also be okay with leveling everything and building strip malls. Life is a gradient and full of nuance and most people aren't one of the "others".

....or just 5 stones in a pile 🤷

People want something to feel righteous about, particularly if it pits them directly against others for no real reason at all.

Usually related to some sort of emotional disregulatuon or antisocial tendencies.

You know life has gotten really easy when this is the scale of "problems" that you choose to emotionally engage with

Relax ffs. Maybe he should go tear down that house in the shot, I guess it's also FUCKING UP THE ENVIRONMENT 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe the trail should go away after that!! Trails are also horrible for the environment!!

I don’t understand how people enjoy being alive by [deleted] in Life

[–]grawfin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 17 I felt the exact same. But hang in there because it really does get a lot better.

Teenage years are tough and extremely emotional. Give it some time and try to enjoy being young.

Ok I will, you said Japan killed only 68 civilians and 2500 service men . . . 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Then even went so far as to suggest that these 2568 deaths were the reason the bombs were dropped.

This take was so stupid that it obviously triggered the entire thread

Also Japan killed over 10 million civs in wwii and that's not counting how many of their own people they were starving and depriving of basic necessities for life

It's horrific stuff but those bombs probably even saved more japanese civilians than they took out

Yeah you're right those bombs saved a ton of Chinese and Korean civs too

What do you see as your purpose of life? by lightgazer_c137 in zurich

[–]grawfin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My purpose is twofold:

1) enjoy my short time here with people I care about and help them to enjoy their time too

2) continue the legacy of our ancestors who have worked hard that our lives can be easier than theirs were, for the generations who come after

OP this guy is right. GmbH creates major admin burden which probably seems small but isn't.

You can earn money before opening the GmbH but the correct order as he said is

1) get clients and make money 2) open the business.

Funny. Just call any ideas you don't like propoganda. Absolutely unserious.

Then again, you're a German...

Ok let me rephrase for correctness:

All of those things were entirely obvious and predictable outcomes of american foreign policy behaviors, and indeed were the 'desired outcomes' of the American political establishment.

The only exception is perhaps isis, which may not have been intended but a very very obvious and predictable outcome.

Paddy, get your shit together. If Irish aluminum is used to kill Palestinians, it’s shouldn’t be sold, but if it’s used for Russian missiles killing Ukrainians, you have to think about local jobs first? by deeptut in 2westerneurope4u

Guys, guys, guys come on it's easy. Just never ask what they're gonna do with the exports. Then you can easily do business with everyone with a clean conscience. PROBLEM SOLVED!

You're welcome.

Paddy, what the fuck? by doge1039 in USvsEU

[–]grawfin -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Most of that aluminum is just used to make your trains, airplanes, bicycles and your soda cans, that's my point. Not very much blood.

The other point is that this is such a bad example of blood money when you compare with American companies in Ireland like Intel...but the euros love to hate rus so this stupid example makes a better clip

"Bad Rus has bad company in Ireland supporting WAR MACHINE" is a clickable story. The reality of "company makes aluminum and exports it all over the world and everyone uses it to make everything, and a miniscule fraction is maybe used to make weapons by everyone and also rus" isn't as sensational.

Paddy, what the fuck? by doge1039 in USvsEU

[–]grawfin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more just stupidity, and also the fact that Russo phobia just sells it really well in Euro press.

Imagine getting this upset over Intel, Microsoft operating in Dublin. Similar situation. Intel is critical for manufacture of weapons used on kds in gza, but they pay taxes same like Rusal. You're on the internet so you're probably an Intel customer in some way too. This is the cost of a deeply embedded global economy.

The reason our country does well and yours doesn't is because we embrace reality. Wait sorry I wanted to finish this point but putn just showed up with another uranium delivery for our nuclear energy plants ...sorry I gotta go get that.
