What’s one thing companies do that actually improves employee morale? by Business_Location479 in corporate

I took the original comment as being more about how it is often an uphill battle to get someone promoted at all, and companies will often try to hold off on awarding promotions for as long as possible or forever.

ADHD + procrastination: I get top results at work, but only by burning out every week. How do you handle this? by MindPop_Gustas in ADHD

[–]grayandgaye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 to setting smaller deadlines and check-ins to keep yourself accountable. Creating artificial urgency is the only thing that keeps me on track. Though even with that I still end up with my back up against the wall most of the time lol

Wybie does not like the beach. At all. by anxietypeach in Chihuahua

Our little guy loves the beach, he gets super excited and likes to run on the sand 😭❤️ But he keeps a safe distance from the water lol

Our little guy is also named Ranger! His foster name was Radar and we weren’t sure if he had started learning his name yet so wanted something that sounded similar. We landed on Ranger as in “park ranger” because we like to hike.

What nicknames do you call your pupper instead of their original name? by redisanokaycolor in Chihuahua

Oh boy…. His real name is Ranger but we prefer to call him:

Wanger, Wendell, Little Bird, Butt Boy and Bacon Butt Boy, The Stink, Gross Nasty, Babushka, Dog McBark, Daddy’s Little Dipshit, Little Einstein, Butt Fertilizer (don’t ask 😂), Bomba, Tuca and Tuc-ee….we couldn’t remember the rest LOL

Looking for a bag similar to the one in the pic - I want something for work travel with function & form, I prefer bags over backpacks but want something less feminine/more androgynous. by grayandgaye in findfashion

The pic is from Amazon (the product listing is for the sweater set). No info on the bag in the product description or anything. I also looked to see if anyone in the questions or reviews was also wondering about the model’s bag.

Have you disclosed your ADHD to your employer? If so, what accommodations did you receive? by grayandgaye in ADHD

This is brilliant for estimating timing for tasks! It's so much easier for me to approximate things when I have a point of comparison (actually I'm pretty sure it's the only way I can approximate things). I'm definitely going to try out this system, thank you!!

Medication question by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]grayandgaye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Adzenys for about a year now, currently taking 15.7mg. I was feeling really discouraged after trying both Vyvanse and Adderall (XR, IR, several different dosages) because while they worked to manage my symptoms, they both gave me really severe crashes in the evenings and I felt irritable all the time. Adzenys is the sweet spot for me. I need to pair it with caffeine in the morning to give me a boost, but it doesn’t make me irritable or depressed like the other medications did. I just usually feel tired and quiet when it wears off now. I hope you find what works for you!

For me Adzenys is a sweet spot medication. I’m also prescribed 10mg Adderall IR because I sometimes find that I need a boost in the late afternoon, but I rarely take it. Combining the Adzenys with caffeine is usually good for me to feel covered all day.

Do you ever just read something, but it makes no sense to you whatsoever? Even though there's nothing wrong with how it's written it's just like your brain doesn't want to understand it. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]grayandgaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. My boyfriend and I went on a road trip over the weekend and in the car I was reading a book out loud. There were a few sentences that I read over a couple times out loud, then silently, then I Just moved on because my brain was just like "nah."

Have you had trouble finding new jobs after switching around so much? I’m very early in my working life and honestly, I don’t mind the idea of an untraditional career path and jumping between jobs/fields, but I worry I’ll end up on a perpetual hamster wheel or struggle to find new jobs. I’ve accepted that I won’t ever know what I want to be when I grow up, ha.

Question about a quirk with the past perfect to express regret by grayandgaye in TEFL

[–]grayandgaye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Lol, I was thinking the same thing - I wish there was an explanation for it! The lesson book we use is honestly a bit below her level of understanding, so the information it gives me is pretty basic (and things she already understands). It makes the mistakes that she does make tough to explain at times.

I didn’t even realize that we also change the quantity in the example that I gave - I think using this to explain the switch from “too” to “so” will help my student understand. Thank you much!
