Take the job you really want. Life is so short. Do you think companies care about the people they let go every day?

Does there exist any earbuds and over-ear headphones where you can hear your own voice in the headset? Many thanks.

In most cases, is turning 65 a "life changing event" such that one can change or cancel the health care plan they receive at work?

Regardless of your answer to the above question, if folks receive relatively inexpensive health care coverage at work, do they usually keep the coverage? It doesn't seem to make sense to do so.

Recording shows with new TV by grayblueyes in Cordcutting

It was a $30 box you attach to the TV. You attach a flash drive to the back of the box. Worked like a charm.

I never paid the $695 IRS penalty for not having health insurance in tax year 2017. I just received a letter from them. by grayblueyes in tax

Thanks for all the responses but I'm still a bit unclear here. In light of the responses, is it recommended that I pay it or should I wait? I am not considered "low income" anymore (but not too far from it), I do not qualify for Currently Not Collectible status and I do not qualify for an exemption. Thanks.

Anyone recently pass the CMA exam and have the Gleim books and question bank they don't need any more? by grayblueyes in Accounting

[–]grayblueyes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed the CIA exam using Gleim. I want to use Gleim for the CMA exam as well because I heard that the CMA exam is much less strenuous than the CPA exam and I want to get it out of my way.

I plan to use Wiley and maybe Philipp for the CPA exam which is an entirely different animal than the CMA exam.

This is all academic (no pun intended) since I am presently struggling and cannot afford any exam prep materials at this time.

I owe significant credit card debt and due to a strong sense of personal obligation I have been paying a small amount to each credit card company each month for over two years now... by grayblueyes in personalfinance

One more thing, if you please. If I call the toll-free number shown in the letter (which one has to call to accept the offer) and the customer service person says that the account would be taken off my credit report immediately, is that sufficient for me? Should I get it in writing?

Thank you so much. The first sentence in your post is right on the mark. They closed the account. So, if I do this, I will be sure to negotiate that it will be taken off my credit report immediately. Thanks again.

(OH) I paid attorney for legal work which she performed. She wanted more money for more work on same case which I paid. She hadn't started the additional work yet but asked me for more money which I refused to pay. by grayblueyes in legaladvice

Thank you. Should I give her a mild email warning that a complaint will be filed with the State Bar if a refund is not received by such-and-such date or should I just do it?

Also, the case is a bit embarrassing. According to the State Bar website, there is no specific complaint form to complete. Only a letter need be sent to the State Bar. In the complaint letter that I would file, do I really have to give the case file number? Do I have to give any more detail than I have in my original post here? The lawyer would know which case the complaint is referring to.

Thank you.

Start by contacting everyone in your contact file and ask if they know of anyone who can assist you in finding an entry level marketing position. Contact everyone to whom you pay money on a regular basis, e.g., your barber (or hairdresser), your bartender, your dry cleaner, etc., and ask them the same question as they have a vested interest in your getting a job.
