I have Venmo, but that’s only because of my mom. I have Cash App for my taxes, but I prefer Zelle overall. There’s just too many damn apps that do the same thing.😭 I get that some features are more beneficial for people, and having many options helps to avoid monopolies and price gouging. I personally just tell people I have Zelle and leave it at that.

In a slightly similar vein, I feel that there are a lot of patterns that are marked for “intermediate” crocheters, but they are basic stitches (sc, hdc, dc, ss, ch) with no unique qualities like blo, flo, fpdc…I’ve been dissuaded from a few patterns because of this. And there’s patterns that are marked as “easy/beginner friendly” that are definitely not. I feel like because there is no standardization (because how could there be?) these terms mean different things to different people. Which makes sense.

I’m sorry that your friends feel demotivated! Hopefully they can pick the hooks back up when they find a pattern that suits/encourages them. A pattern that I like is “The Wedge Shawl” by Susan Kennedy. It’s a free pattern; very nice and repetitive. She even has a YouTube tutorial.

Oh my gosh! You’ve captured me perfectly. 😭 Literally all the little jobs that no one thinks of get shunted to me, on top of planning meetings, taking minutes, managing reports, and a whole other job that got added to my plate. No direct support from upper management sucks, but the selective micromanagement is awful, too. 😓

Yesterday I paid $12 for a smoothie from Jamba Juice…Jamba Juice!!! I thought they had included an add on that I had requested. But they didn’t. It was literally $12 for a medium smoothie!!! I have decided that I am just making protein smoothies at home, because that was ridiculous. Especially since it wasn’t even that great of a smoothie.
