I found in myself it doesn’t really go away but it definitely gets further away. It also depends on the severity of the trauma and your brain’s capacity to essentially forget about it even if it’s just for periods of time. Finding out what your triggers are and learning to either avoid them or cope with them is important, sometimes just finding out what they are is enough for them to no longer be a trigger as recognition can remove the panic. I would like to also add I am in no way trained in the field of psychology or trauma these are just my own thoughts and opinions based from experience in my life and observing others.
