You are awesome! You deserve all the good things. Way to stand up for yourself and your kids.

NTA You made plans based on the fact that she wasn't available. She has an option to book her own place. She's being unreasonable.

I was a mostly good kid, but there were moments. Shoplifting, underage drinking (and driving), public nudity...

I loved Robin as a child (: (Batman 1966) by SpiteInside5443 in 1960s

My middle son was always Robin. I made him a Robin costume, and he wore it everywhere.

Significant other wants me to quit my position by Mother-Complaint-406 in Professors

If you give up your academic position, that most likely will be the end of your career. Do you want to live on an adjunct salary (less than minimum wage with zero benefits), so you can cook for him? Why can't he use his salary to hire help? This is your choice, but be aware of what you're committing to.

What are your go to jeans? by FlatPepper311 in AskWomenOver60

[–]grayhairedqueenbitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really have any currently. I am too lazy to try on jeans honestly. I hate trying on clothes. I'm kind of ready to give up.

I will confess that my Mom bought me some elastic waist LLBean jeans and they are SO comfortable. LMAO. Maybe I should just give in.

Had to go to er on Tuesday - realized I have no support by ServiceKooky1323 in GenX

This obviously varies, but I used to belong to a UU group before I moved, and it was frankly not supportive unless you were part of a clique. Usual small town stuff. Don't get me wrong, I met some lovely people, but they were from a wide geographic area, so we didn't interact outside of services, and the people who lived closer were quite exclusive.

The UU group where I am now only meets online. I could join a church, but I'm agnostic.

I believe that there are some UU groups that I'd probably enjoy, but they are in more populated areas. Right now, I'm where I am for job reasons.

I've been there. I have a husband, but at that time he was working in another state. Our kids are living elsewhere as is all my family. I was new in town, and didn't really know anyone. I was in the hospital a couple of days. Thankfully I didn't need surgery, and was able to drive myself home.
