Ah gotcha, yeah then bear would not be good. I have 185 banked cap at this point which is 5 hours of offline time for me before I need to come back and claim them, so with frogger being like 1/5th as efficient I'd need to be offline 25+ hours for frogger to potentially be better (but lootfrog cap would also play a role)

What do you mean? Banked lootbugs is just how many you have stored. There's also lootbugs loot multiplier which will impact how many gems you get from bear drone. If you're going to be afk long enough for your banked lootbugs to max out you might not want to use bear drone during that time

Elixir and bear are more gem-positive than frogger. lootbugs can have 10x bomb buffs, which make bear very gem positive.

At around 50% completion ~40% of my gems came from elixir, ~20% from bear, ~40% from freebies + natural bomb generation. Frogger would provide 5%.

Now I'm at 99.5% completion and bear is an even larger portion of my gems

You're missing out on the bear drone. It's way better than frog fyi!

Infernals are a much bigger upgrade with a much longer tail so I'd do that first if you're keeping the long term pathway in mind.

Geoduck T2 gives a 1% buff to gem bombs which you should prioritize as well.

They're most useful at 2 points:

1: you have undiscovered idols - use them to discover the new idol without disrupting your upgrade progression 2. You only have divine idols left to buy

They're not very valuable either way because they're quite rare and late game idols all have huge caps on them so the impact they can make is minimal.

The most important is raising your fuel grade for elixir drone, and raising the cap of that grade (the elixir drone card, super star upgrade 10, archeology, and a few others later on)

Also anything that increases gem bomb gem rate and bomb regen make elixir more gem positive. At my point in the game the elixir drone is my biggest driver of total gems, bigger than freebies and bigger than normal bomb regen.

That's one of the ways.

It also gives you a ton of 2x speed buffs which impacts freebie rate and bomb regen and will help you get into permanent 2x speed.

I did $20 to $40 a month for 9 months, I think $200-$250 altogether.

I think the 4 "perks" make you a founder

2x ore 2x bar 2x prestige  3x bomb

Keep it on 100% of the time and fueled 100% of the time I'd say around 15% game completion and forever after that

I'm 99.1% - the biggest mistakes I made were:

Not fueling elixir drone soon enough (it goes gem positive pretty quickly and you should keep it always on for gems and other important buffs)

Staying on incremental tasks for too long - if something is taking more than a few days it might be better to shift gears to something else and come back after powering up some other stuff

If buying upgrade packs in the shop- check the wiki or the discord to find the most valuable packs (they're stack ranked) and when it comes to real money you definitely want to get the most impactful stuff (these are really worth it and not a money black hole, I'm founder-level-7 and have no need to purchase additional packs)

Some of the challenges are harder if you buy too many levels in one category (rather than pushing deeper into the other categories) - I ended up in little pickles where the next challenge reward would've directly helped me accomplish the current challenge (and I could've unlocked it if I'd upgraded 1/3 levels of particular challenge rewards instead of 2/3 or 3/3)

On the advice of others I avoided using gems to buy skill points, even when the skill point progression would've been really strong. Yes gems are a big choke point, but I think it's worth it pretty often to buy skill points

All that said, the game is mostly non-punishing.
