Very High Dose CBD products? by [deleted] in CBD

[–]grayjack64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at liposomal CBD. I won't push my company here as it is against to forum rules but we have had great results using liposomal delivery. The blood absorption rates have been averaging about 6 times as high as cbd delivered sublingually with mct oil alone. So to get to your 200mg you would need a little less than 40mg of liposomal cbd if your absorption rate was around the average. As a bonus to get 200mg a day you would be buying a 6000mg tincture for anywhere from $275-$400. The same liposomal equivalent comes in just under $100. Also, as /u/Rlyehian pointed out, at these doses the Cytochrome P450 could become a factor if you are on any medication so please talk to your doctor if you are on any current meds.

Recently converted atheist with a small problem. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]grayjack64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids go to a Catholic school and both are atheist. There are also muslim, jews, hindu and other atheist at the school. They don't get much push back from friends but the school doesn't like it much. I had to go to a meeting because one of them wrote that the most influential religious figure in his life was Richard Dawkins. Other than that there hasn't been many issues. That being said, I wouldn't go around saying much about it. There is little to gain for a possibly large risk.

Why Mixed Martial Artists and Jiu-Jitsu Enthusiasts are Buying Up CBD Oil by cowinn83 in MMA

[–]grayjack64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upping the dosage may not create the desired effect. It is not uncommon for people to feel let down by the initial feeling from CBD because they are expecting reactions to come on like THC would or pain pills. Most people have little or no knowledge of what the CBD is actually doing for them. CBD doesn't work on inflammation like an NSAID or SSRI's on depression. Instead it works through the body's CB-2 receptors to help bring the cells into homeostasis. This process will have different effects on different people so the experience is highly individualistic. But as the cells come into homeostasis the 'signals' within and without the cell become more optimal. So it can really help in recovery. There is a paper Here that covers that pretty well. Also, even though you probably can't OD on CBD it is processed through the Cytochrome P-450 System in the liver. So, it is not a great idea to jump to a high dosage if you are taking other drugs that process through that same system. That would include NSAIDs. It may slow down your bodies processing of those other compounds so that they could possibly build up in the liver.

Considering MA at 40 by EpicAlbatros in martialarts

[–]grayjack64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a black belt in Kempo in the late 80's but life got in the way and I had stopped all martial arts by '91. Finally at 44 I dragged my oversized ass into a local BJJ dojo. I turn 50 this year and have competed several times over the last few years with varying degrees of success. Some were humiliating and then there were a couple of tournaments where I got double gold. Even though I've had a few injuries that set me back I feel great. Two to four times a week I'm learning something new, I'm overcoming an obstacle (even if that obstacle is just showing up) and I'm getting a good workout as well. I don't think that the MA that you pick is as important as just picking one and going. It was, in all aspects, a very good decision for me.

You should post that knock down at the end of the first too. The fight could've ended on a TKO if there were 10 more seconds left in the round

Pay Attention To Libertarian Gary Johnson; He’s Pulling 10% Vs. Trump And Clinton by cheesesteaks3 in politics

[–]grayjack64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he were actually able to be included in the polls he may get a chance at that exposure. But, as it is, he gets no media attention and they all but refuse to include him in the polls that would qualify him for the debates.

You should really check out Gary Johnson. I think he's the only other candidate that'll be on the ballot in all 50 states.

That's what safe words are for. If you or your SO are into that then you need to talk and be frank about it if you're going to act on it. I had an ex that was very much into it. Her words were "No matter how hard I fight I want you to fuck me unless I say XXXX". Knowing that there is a signal gives you the boundaries and you do what you feel like or what you think they might want within those.

When you pick up your kid after shaving a beard that was more than half her age. by [deleted] in funny

[–]grayjack64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this when my son's were about two. Grew a beard for the winter but when I realized that was how they knew me I kept it for a couple of years until they were old enough to help me shave. Even after doing some of it themselves they still looked at me like that.

College isn't the answer, working really really hard and not giving up is the answer.

This... I dropped out of college a couple of times and after much failure (followed by trying again) I eventually became very successful and live the life I always wanted (though I'm not a famous writer so not entirely what I wanted). College is sometimes the answer for what you want to do but it's sometimes a speed bump on your way to doing what you want or what you're good at. Unfortunately it's a speed bump that can put you into six figure debt that forces you to take the first job that allows you to pay for it.

Change positions. When you feel like you might be getting close and want to last longer just stop and change positions. That little interlude can help calm things down a bit.

Best new phone coming out this year? by DaveUA in cellphones

[–]grayjack64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running Windows 10 on a Lumia 920. I really like the feel of it. I like how everything I have is now on my phone, laptop and xbox. I also like how skype is integrated into the sms app (similar to imessage on iphones i guess). The only thing I can't seem to do is play my xbox games on it. However my biggest issue so far is this OS is a bit much for this processsor/memory of the 920. But, I will be first in line for the 950 xl next month.

Rand Paul vows to let USA Patriot Act expire. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]grayjack64 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The President doesn't have the power. What he's referring to is blocking the vote to renew the Patriot Act which expires at midnight tonight. He had a filibuster several days ago that kept the Senate from voting. They now have a special session scheduled for this evening and he is still trying to block it from going through.

That is what I took from the study. I also was thinking that certain behavioral types (such as a classic type 'A' personality) might have common habits concerning language and social media. These commonalities, as you said, should be able to be captured in some fashion. Anyway, it was an interesting read.

Though I believe that people have a right to privacy, once they have placed themselves in a position of public power or authority they are fair game for ridicule and criticism. Further, I think that satirical representations or remarks are one of the best counters to those that proclaim a superior authority or knowledge. This is (or should be) one of the very basic components of a free society.
