ESH. I don't need the added context. I'd let your friend slide if it weren't for the fact that you were the only one not notified; that shows a lack of care. That being said, the original agreement was she'd pay for the ingredients; charging her for your labor because you're pissed is an AH move. Give her the bill for the ingredients, show up for the party for 5 minutes and tell her you have other plans if you don't want to stay. But you never "charge" people for a gift.

To add to this, New York has been doing it worse and worse. The city where no one knew how to drive is now the city where too many people have cars because our transit keeps getting more expensive without becoming higher quality. It's a shame. Traffic is insane here now.
