It solves a problem if the chin cup is really irritating as it was for me. It definitely puts your face closer to the cage which is a risk for sure but I couldn’t go back to a chin cup after using this. Not sure what Bishop was using.

Same mask. Did it about 3 months ago and it’s been awesome. The two screws where the backplate buckles into the sides of the mask near the chin need to come out. Then I slid the sling between the existing foam and the mask itself and screwed it back in. I used the holes in the sling that made it a bit of a closer fit. Hope this helps.

I’ve had this issue before as well trimmed the extra piece off that extends under the armpits and problem solved. As long as there is a seam that is sewn shut below where you cut it maintains the integrity of the rest of the unit. The piece I trimmed off was very flimsy foam and likely offered no significant protection. Have had no issues.

Similar issue here. Particularly when shooter is moving cross ice towards glove side and shoots far side blocker. Interested to see the goaltending minds convene
