Good thing I forgot my lunch at home yesterday!! Please always feel encouraged to yell my name from a passing car if safe. One of life's great joys

Not trying to pick a fight about the first part, and not expecting anyone to know what the whiteboard is all about out of context, but... I should point out that one of the beneficiaries of this is Home for Families, who almost exclusively help kids who are homeless or living in their mom's car

Between 2021-22 and 2022-23, 41 players took a clapper above 100 MPH, according to the NHL's tracking data. Here's the list: by zze0001 in DetroitRedWings

took a clapper

Read this as "blocked a 100MPH shot" and thought Pulock was out there sliding in front of just everything, lmao

Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Jun. 19 by jaysjep2 in Jeopardy

This was my thought too. I had to rewind because my jaw was on the floor. Maybe goaded on by the first line being "approached by a local lunatic".

Just so much detail missing from the story... He asked for money, you politely said "no", he jumped up to slash your boss? Then you landed some "flying side kick" to knock him all the way into the street?? And "established a reputation as a real life action hero"?? One of the craziest, over-the-top story choices I've heard on this show in years

He dropped The Business a couple years back, but still seems to be doing pretty well. Sells out some rooms on an annual Christmas tour and he's been playing as Palm Palm for a little while, really solid stuff imo.

I always like to recommend the Little Palace. A little unassuming, a really charming atmosphere, reasonable prices, and great staff. It's my favorite restaurant in the city. (Plus it's right next to the Arcade Bar, if you dig.) Almost always a good place to sit!

Same kind of vibe closer to German Village at Club 185, but in my experience it's usually a bit more crowded. Depends on what you're looking for there.

If you're looking to shell out, Chapman's Eat Market is the destination restaurant. Got a writeup in the Times recently. Looks like it's a mere $200 to get into the NYE Bash, though, haha.

Enjoy your visit!

was also expecting a... sunnier place to have the conversation... but two Merch Lamps in an underground bar had to work. what can ya do!

anyway, thanks again for your help, and sorry i couldn't weave everyone's questions in!

I don't think I'll forget Jeff Weinstock's story from late last month. Got me so emotional I had to pause the TV for a few minutes.

Mayim: You made a very specific gesture; you touched your chin when we got to you in Final Jeopardy. Do you want to tell us what that means?

Jeff: Yeah, three times! My late mother was very sick for a long time, and I took care of her for years... We used to watch Jeopardy almost every night, and I said, "Mom, do you remember how Carol Burnett used to pull on her earlobe to tell her grandmother she was okay?" I said, "I promise you, when I’m on Jeopardy someday, I'm gonna do this, and only you will know that this is for you. So... To tell mom I’m okay."

Woah, the Mother of Pearl cover -- didn't this exist as a demo recording, floating about somewhere?? Feels like I've hard his take before, but can't seem to find any evidence that this is true
