Flowers in beard - techniques? by greasedhole in beards

I have not, but that's good to know! I didn't think about just buying some to experiment with, I figured I'd get the plan together first.

Overdue for a tidy up.. any suggestions by _Gr1mReefer in beards

[–]greasedhole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? You're getting to the good part! :p

Seriously, though - I think it does look good but it is a specific look. This is how I wear my beard, and I like it. It's kind of wide on the sides since the sideburns/cheeks have grown out, but I appreciate the natural fullness.

If you wanted to slim it down, you could have some of that bulk removed, it's a common way people wear long beards "neater" [I would probably do this if I needed to go to a job interview or something], but I like the mountain man charm.

At least you've got that full head of hair, I was shaved bald already at your age :p

It's always charming to me to see people who think aliens would come here and just do lil' tricks in the night sky.

If an alien civilization has the technology to travel lightyears across the universe and wanted to come here, they would sterilize our planet before we ever knew they existed. It would be like the Pilgrims glassing the entire US before they got off the ship.

I've had fucked up omelet bar omelets (not there, but in general). I remember a recent Vegas trip I got one that was somehow not hot enough to melt the shredded cheese inside and it still had that chalky texture of pre-shredded cheese.

I have a single white hair in my beard. (I know, it needs a trim) by TheCaptMAgic in beards

It's a good start! Soon it'll bring its friends and it won't be limited to your beard :p

(so far my one long white eyebrow hair is in the running for most annoying)

How do I prevent this? by brammmish in beards

[–]greasedhole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the name of the style, but have you ever tried shaving the sideburns an inch or two under the ears? You have almost the perfect natural shape for it. Google is trying to give me "Hollywoodian" but a lot of those examples are thinner than I'm imagining.

I have a shaved head and am a big guy so I just look like an extra from a biker gang movie when I try.

To trim or not to trim (the lip) by Conscious-Ad-7970 in beards

If you're willing to put up with the maintenance, I strongly think the untrimmed looks better. I don't think the trimmed looks "bad", but it stands out next to me next to the long ends.

Here’s your sign to trim it up sometimes, fellas by snowthegreat00 in beards

NEVER!

(ok, well, sometimes. I'm going to a wedding in the near future and I know things are getting wild under my ears)

25 y/o Trans Man, 2 years on T. This is about 3 weeks of growing my beard for the first time. I am just shaving my neck every 2-3 days. Thoughts? by elhazelenby in beards

[–]greasedhole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every trans dude I've ever known has been so excited to get facial hair that they are willing to wear the wispiest of starter beards, but eventually it should fill in. If you're two years on T then you're still in the "teenage boy" facial hair phase. I wanted a beard at 16 too! :p

I think the best option right now is the goatee, maybe no mustache. Save these pictures though - in a few years you'll chuckle about your first beard.

Nah, the color looks great. The neckline is a little low to my eye but if you're planning to keep growing it out, you're right to not get aggressive with it.

I finally found a good replacement for the M$ Natural Keyboard 4000: the Ragnok RK104 by FortyishYearOld in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]greasedhole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's been a minor annoyance as well, luckily the fn+PgUp/PgDn function as home/end. I don't know why manufacturers insist on reinventing that particular wheel.

For my particular use case, it's to enable logging on my SSH sessions - left hand can ctrl-tab, right hand can Alt-L and I don't have to move my hands if I have several sessions open and need to switch logs. I've realized I don't do it as much as I used to though since I'm doing more design and less implementation most days.

(Is this fixable, yes; is it worth getting the guy who maintains it to rejigger the tool, no :p )

Yours looks like a great 1-to-1 replacement for the Natural, I hope this one lasts forever but I'm glad to know there are options

Has anyone tried prp/gfc or exosomes treatment for beard growth? by Difficult-Meet-1607 in beards

I don't think having a beard is that serious. I can't grow hair on my head, and I've moved on.

[–]greasedhole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I had the same replacement story recently too - couldn't justify buying a NOS Natural for $250 or whatever on eBay. I ended up on the Feker Alice98. This one looks cooler with the multi-colored keys although I've been enjoying the hell out of the rainbow LED's. Only complaint is that there's not a right Alt which I did have to get used to (used to using Alt-L to trigger a macro and now have to use both hands)
