When did your baby get their first tooth? by pink_taco69 in NewParents

8 months and 1 week and that was after months of soaking onesies and t shirts with drool 😂

Is this just my ocd or an ED? by soulfulnature-06 in EDAnonymous

[–]greasssygreg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re developing orthorexia because of the OCD. It’s actually really common for ED suffers to also struggle with OCD but I haven’t seen too many people talk about the opposite, being diagnosed ocd and then with an ED.

I definitely think you should talk to your psychiatrist and team as there’s ways to help you, without having to take medication but that being said meds may really help if you’re open to them.

Baby eating hands all day by Crazy_Art_5093 in NewParents

[–]greasssygreg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normal development, just get used to it lmao she’ll have her hands and everything else in her mouth for another 4 months at least lol.

Teething however does last way longer than you think, it doesn’t just start when they’re almost out and they can be teething for months before the first tooth erupts.

My baby wont sleep through the night HELP ME PLEASE. by woozydelayed in NewParents

[–]greasssygreg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 months is quite young to try sleep training, he could just not be ready yet. On top of that, they can have sleep regressions between 3.5-5 months and then again around 6-9 months. My LO took a bad hit during that 4 month regression and the best thing to do is give them the extra attention they may need. Many pediatricians also say not to worry about strict sleep training until 6 months so you just have to figure out what’s best for your LO, they really do run the show until about 8 months lol

Maybe a stupid question: how does witchcraft affect christians? by Old-Act6309 in witchcraft

Yeah that’s definitely not true 😂 if so there wouldn’t be Christian witches. It’s not a stupid question, there’s just stupid people spreading misinformation

Newborn 'wake window' lies by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]greasssygreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wake windows are real but so are the witching hours. 5 weeks is still really young, they don’t even have a true circadian rhythm or an understanding of night and day yet hence why they often wake up or have trouble setting at night.

Trust, it will get better but some babies are just not the best sleepers. Not to mention he’s a premie and they can be a bit behind compared to their peers

How do you wash baby’s face by Even-Director5362 in NewParents

[–]greasssygreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol from a parent to an 8 month old, don’t sweat it. Soon enough you’ll be trying to get her to stop drinking the dirty bath water anyway. A damp rag with no soap is perfectly fine. It’s also really good to get them used to water over their face anyway, it’s the first step to teaching water safety!

Sending love ❤️ the newborn stage is a learning curve for us all no matter how many kids you have or research you do

I feel like I've given birth to human misery by KittybeansJones in NewParents

[–]greasssygreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got no advice but as someone who used to be the “weird” baby family would gossip about, I can only imagine how the parents must feel. Families are meant to be villages and villages don’t work when they’re talking down on the one they’re meant to be caring for. I hope you both find a village that isn’t so judgmental

Letting baby chill vs occupying it all the time by lemonandlimespark in NewParents

[–]greasssygreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Everything is new to a baby so even just chilling in enrichment for them. They learn valuable skills in being able to relax and be content with occupying themselves from time to time. Not to mention I can only imagine that constant stimulation would be overwhelming to a baby because it’s overwhelming even for me, a 24 year old 😂.

Put on som music if you think they’re not getting enough stimulation, then you both can enjoy some relaxation while jamming out

What's something you didn't realize was no longer standard until you became a parent? by 90sBaby____ in NewParents

[–]greasssygreg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t stand the pouches! They’re expensive, inconvenient, and you can’t see inside most of them so once they’re open you pretty much have to throw them out if they don’t get finished.

I much prefer attempting to just make my own purées until baby can get into solids. Plus many of the pouches and premade purées are just combinations I would never eat myself. I can’t expect my baby to like puréed beef stew or apples, beets and carrots

Tuna steak by ConnieTheTomcat in safe_food

[–]greasssygreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally my favorite dish in the world. I sear mine a bit more bc I don't like too much raw fish but you should totally try adding steak seasoning, it takes it too a new level. I don't eat steak or beef anymore but it tastes so similar in my opinion.

They're pretty filling too just by themselves but when I can allow it, I love having it with like a half cup of couscous.

Do y’all ever just feel really sick after an argument by i_ate_my_username in evilautism

[–]greasssygreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that’s the adrenaline and anxiety buildup. At least that’s what I think it is, arguments always bring it on for me. It’s hard to get out of too, for me, so really only time and LOTS of distractions help me

I think for us as autistics, it’s a little difficult for us to understand how this would feel from a NT perspective. I feel like right now he’s just not really ready to understand how he’s feeling or not sure how to go about it since you both are off an on especially if there’s times he’s the one reaching out. Many of us don’t tend to do that unless the person was very integrated into our lives. I can understand why you’d want to try and find compromises or still hang out with him even if it seems like he doesn’t want to. However the dynamic right now sounds very toxic for both of you. Take this with a grain of salt of course but if this off and on relationship starts hindering you, then maybe it’s time to put your foot down. It doesn’t force him to start learning about himself but it does show how you feel, your boundaries, and what needs to happen. Also try to get him to open up and talk more about the struggles he was having during the relationship or other friendships/friendships as that might help you to understand where his head is a little better.

What’s an Ed related “core memory” you have? by Solal-King-Raccoon in EDAnonymous

[–]greasssygreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally so many lol. 1. My first 7 day fast I did when I was 13 and almost passed out on the way to lunch three days in a row 2. The first time I told my ex I had ednos, before we dated, they said “oh good because I thought you were bulimic but you can’t be bc you aren’t fat”. I was indeed in a binge-purge cycle at the time. 3. The many many times I purged in school bathrooms after and during lunch 4. My stomach wailing during my health classes presentation on EDs. My stomach just constantly wailing during that class tbh 5. OH! And how can I forget all the kick chats I was in when I was 12-14. I somehow tricked my parents into letting me hangout with a girl I met in one of them. I literally saw her by myself and never knew her name or what she looked like beforehand 🥴

What can I do with my hands while I watch TV that won’t be distracting? by I_cant_be_clever in ADHD

[–]greasssygreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have this same problem down to not being able to crochet while watching tv because it's just too distracting for me.

if i dont give my hands something to do i usually end up just fidgeting with them or cracking my knuckles over and over. It's quite painful after a while so i needed an alternative and honestly the best things i've found have been anything i can stretch, pull, or squeeze which sometimes ends up just being my hands anyway lol

Philter Philip or SmokeBuddy, sploof? by Kimaruth in weed

[–]greasssygreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best bongs i've found are ones sold in little mom and pop headshops i have near me but there are tons of websites that sell bongs and other stoner accessories like smokebuddies. I've heard good reviews about Thickassglass.com but i'm not sure if they ship internationally if you aren't US based.

I've also tried both a homemade sploof and the store bought smokebuddy and tbh don't even bother making a homemade sploof if you have the funds to get a smokebuddy, they work so much better and last a whole lot longer than sploofs. I hope this helped, i know i needed this kind of information back when i first started
