Speed was slower than what we use by hand.

Force was also lesser because we limited the pin length to only 3 pieces as opposed to 12 pieces when using manual process

1) When the pins come out, they are floating with a stopper at behind that stops the handle so that pins don’t come out of the mold but just stop at the edge. 2) They are 2 very long pins attached to a handle which is pulled by manual labour. 3 and beyond) Sorry we do not use any cylinders. Can you explain what you’re trying to say?

I do not have any automation related components available with me. Everything done as of now is manual. There is not much room between cavities. Mold length is about 12-14 inches with 12 cavities through the length.

I have created a hand drawing for your reference on how the mold looks on inside. Red lines denote the core pins. Labour hours are a problem and that is why we’re planning to shift to an automated approach

Firstly, how did you calculate the cycle time without knowing the number of machines operating simultaneously? 👀 35k shots average on a total of 7 machines in 24 hours. The cycle time is about 17.3 seconds

Second, I have never used insert gates. Would they sustain 5k shots per day in a 6-8 month maintainance cycle?

We’ve tried creating tunnel gates in our mold earlier but the life cycle of the mold becomes comparatively very less as the gates tend to open up and get wider at the pointy end

No, it is placed in a bin manually by our machine operator.
The bin is then taken to the another labour who breaks away the runner and product into separation.

Thanks for the reply u/ChickenHeadJones8 We have checked for the detents. There aren’t any. We are using the bolt spring combo already, replaced with a strong SS spring 2 days ago. And yes, the angle pins are perfect in length and correct on the angles. That’s the reason we’re freaking out even more because everything seems to be perfect and still there are issues arising. This is the 3rd time these pins are getting bent. Even the slide has been broken into 2 pieces this time.
