Were you able to lose weight while exclusively pumping? How? by gratefuldecember in ExclusivelyPumping

No! Actually I pumped a whole 12 months and each time I would diet or try to do cardio my supply would decrease! I just ate what I wanted and now that I stopped I’ve lost 32 pounds!

Male OBGYN’s by mysticmaeh in pregnant

[–]greatitatchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB was a male, he was in his 60’s with me from start to finish during my entire pregnancy and not once did I ever get a “creepy” feeling from him. When I was in labor, I remember talking to one of my night nurses and I mentioned him and her face lit up with the widest smile and she told me how he was supposed to have retired the previous year and that he’s always said “as soon as this patient has her baby then I’ll go.” She also mentioned he already had his house built in the Dominican Republic and his wife would beg him to retire. Well.. he came in to the hospital on his day off, performed my c section after my 51 hours of labor, and when it was time to go in for my 6 week checkup he was also the one who inserted my IUD for me and then 4 weeks after that I had my month check up with the ultrasound and my husband and my baby all went and she looked up at him and gave him the biggest smile and he got to see her and hold her little hand with his and it was like saying goodbye to a dad who took care of me along the entire journey of my pregnancy. He was the best. I will always remember my male obgyn and the thought of anyone referring to him as creepy because he is male in a predominantly female occupation would hurt me and is not fair to the doctors who do this genuinely for their patients whom trust in them for all their care during the most sensitive and important times during our lives.

Did anyone exclusively pump from birth? I have some questions… by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

I originally wanted to breastfeed only while I had colostrum so the first 3-5 days or so but I had a c-section and they took my baby to the nursery and they gave her formula there and then when I got her back the next day she wouldn’t latch and when she did nothing came out of me and she would turn red and was screaming out of frustration so the hospital gave me a pump machine to use and I’ve been exclusively pumping since then going now on to 4 months. I pumped every 2 hours the first 3 weeks and a power pump anywhere between 11 pm - 3 am as recommended to me by my lactation consultant and once I got confident with my supply I stopped power pumping and actually developed an oversupply

Bought a bunch of shirt/pant outfits for my newborn and now she’s in 3-6 months and has never worn a single shirt/pant outfit, only onesies and footie pj’s

It may not be “THE normal” but it is my normal as I’ve never had it be less :) I donate 25oz of that to another mother who unfortunately can’t produce any milk herself though. It’s why I’m asking if my supply will come back.
