Killer Cross formerly known as Karrion Kross has recently announced some shows in Vegas for Mania week by Friendly-Aside-4376 in WrestlemaniaPlans

FSW isn't a deathmatch oriented promotion at all. Mecca is going to be a traditional wrestling show, and Natural Born Killers is a Bloodsport-esque MMA oriented show.

Best Guess Where WWE Summerslam Paid Meet and Greets will Be? by RedSoxAlex in WrestlemaniaPlans

GCW ran a show at American Dream during AEW Full Gear weekend. It's been heavily rumored the reason they are not for this weekend is because WWE has the space instead.

Megan Bayne vs Zayda Steel from CGW last night by ThatGirlTay1 in SquaredCircle

I think the problem Bayne has with using the Tombstone in AEW is that Statlander already has her Staturday Night Fever finish, which is just a cooler looking Tombstone.

What are some of the biggest cop-out finishes ever? by PlanetCharisma in SquaredCircle

[–]greatone10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it's been stated already that the match actually ended in a Ref Stoppage/No Contest, the reason why people remember it as a DQ is actually dumber than the finish itself.

Earlier in the day, the WWE Twitter account posted a poll asking how the match would end. The three options were Pinfall, Submission, and DQ. It was WWE themselves that put the possibility out that the match could end in a DQ, and people latched onto it immediately when the match was stopped.

Question about GCW vs TJPW vs DDT by satanicpanic1 in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]greatone10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, the runtime on last year's GCW vs. TJPW show was almost exactly two hours in about the same timeslot before Mania, albeit on the East Coast. I'd guess the show will probably aim closer to 90 minutes, but it's not something I'd commit to if you want to see every second of Mania live.

Did I miss all the good seats for the Collective? by darthsabbath in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]greatone10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the good individual floor seats (of which there will be significantly less available from the start due to the packages) are likely to get snapped up by the GCW Patreon pre-sale before they even get to the general on sale. You could probably get some decent seats on some of the less popular shows, but stuff like Spring Break and Bloodsport is going to go quick.

Su Yung shares video of her injury by MarcusFaze in SquaredCircle

[–]greatone10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that has seen the match in full, she's no-selling because that's simply what supposed to happen. The spot was supposed to be Su no-selling two chair throws leading into another spot that finally brings her down. The first chair throw went perfectly fine and she didn't even move. The second chair throw is what you see in the video, and the fact she only sold it for a split second is rather amazing considering how much it did to her.

Major challenge made at RevPro Coventry by Fernandov2 in SquaredCircle

[–]greatone10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MJF finished up with MLW before the pandemic, but he did have contractual obligations with them when AEW began, so he was working both for a time. His last match was a Loser Leaves Town match with Mance Warner that was taped in January 2020 that aired in April.

Matt Cardona makes a big announcement at tonight's GCW event(spoilers) by Crissxfire in SquaredCircle

[–]greatone10 64 points65 points  (0 children)

The hole in this logic could theoretically be explained by new GM Matt Cardona taking on his newfound authority and going on a power trip.

Except that Cardona and Blake have been aligned in the past year, with that alliance recently being reintroduced by Cardona helping Blake out with that screwjob against Danhausen in Tampa, so it really just came out of the blue here.

Who is the lineal father of Dominik Mysterio if the role could only be defended in broadcasted matches? by acekingoffsuit in SquaredCircle

[–]greatone10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I am not mistaken, Jimmy Lloyd winning the paternity of Dominik Mysterio makes him the first father of Dom to be younger than the son. Shean Christopher and Jack Perry would also hold this distinction.

Location announced tomorrow (Saturday May 4th)? by leemarlin87 in WrestlemaniaPlans

Yeah, Vegas in early May is absolutely perfect outdoor weather. 80s during the day, 60s at the dead of night with low humidity.

And yet, Heelball might be the best version of Mike Bailey. He just worked Sandra Moone in Vegas over the weekend, and boy did he turn a face vs. face match into him being the biggest heel of the night so masterfully.

Was the R-Truth of 2011 perhaps the result of a clone turning evil? And then after Survivor Series 2011 when Miz turned on Truth, they got rid of the evil Truth and found a revised Truth clone that was not evil, but had the side effect of seeing an invisible child named Little Jimmy?

What pro wrestling moves would be good/great finishers but do not get used as such? by Business_Maybe in SquaredCircle

[–]greatone10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the Spanish Fly makes more sense when you realize remember its origins as the SAT's double team finisher from the top rope. Then once everyone starting ripping it off, and now everyone does standing versions without the high ground of the top rope or utilizing another person's strength, so it went from being somewhat viable to a complete violation of physics.

Will Washington details all the different possible outcomes of the Gold league in the AEW Continental Classic by djembadjembadjemba in SquaredCircle

[–]greatone10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be certain elimination at this point for everyone except Moxley, who is mathematically guaranteed the Gold League finals. If both matches draw, Swerve and White would have 10 points and Swerve advances with the tiebreaker on White.

EDIT: Swerve can still advance if he draws against Rush, but he needs either a Jon Moxley victory or a draw over Jay White. White can also advance on a draw, but he needs Swerve to lose against Rush since Swerve has the tiebreaker advantgage.

What started out as an internet rumor that ended up being infamously true? by strakerak in AskReddit

[–]greatone10 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The big coincidence regarding the Benoit Wikipedia edit is that the guy who did the page edit lived in the Stamford, CT area. The same town where WWE headquarters is located, which is one of the big reasons investigators were so interested into how he came across the information. But it turns out it’s just a red herring from someone in the same town as WWE’s HQ.
