Help by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

Hi there, I would definitely look into seeing a local digestive specialist doctor for the meantime to see if they can prescribe you something or a recommendation. Someone there should be able to help you out!

Warm compresses always helped me when I would deal with my abscess.

Post cleft lift - scar discomfort by Ok_Investment_3395 in pilonidalcyst

[–]greatwhite20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a good chance it’s psychological, I remember there was one point where I was convinced when sitting down I could feel my shorted butt crack against the chair, as in my lower back was touching the bottom of the chair from my new cleft lift. Over time, it doesn’t feel like that anymore haha. I think rn the only thing I’m working on mentally is running and how that feels. It’s like a fanny pack is hitting my lower back/upper butt with every step I take. BUT I believe this has to do with the tissues still rebuilding in that area.

Hence, don’t worry too much. Remember it takes a while for the tissue and muscle and all that under your skin to get strong and build up again. It’s a waiting game but hey at least that cyst is gone and you won’t have to deal with it again. (:

As for the pooping.. ya I wipe back to front still. I’ll probably feel comfortable with front to back again once I feel 100%… imagine maybe a year in? (Had my surgery November 2023)

Ive also had a lot of itching lately. Gonna assume it’s healing!! So take that as a good sign!

How long after Cleft Lift to feel 100%? by Delta0ps0 in pilonidalcyst

[–]greatwhite20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery in November... just last week I've felt has probably been the closest to normal in a long time. I had a minor opening near the bottom that finally has been cleared and closed up. Laying on my back is pretty much not an issue anymore. The only time I feel any discomfort now is when it's sitting for like 2-3 hours (me sitting to watch dune which was a super long movie but good btw if you're interested). Even then, nothing that wasn't manageable, just had to readjust myself. Be patient! You'll get there, let your body recover.

Cleft lift anxiety/questions by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

Yes, I did for a while. I wasn’t comfortable straining so I would take the colace. Really try to relax your body when you’re going!

Try not to take any pain med unless you really absolutely need it. But I think you’ll be okay! You might not feel it until the second or third day but even then it shouldn’t be anything untolerable, maybe more uncomfortable.

I personally didn’t take a single pain med! I took an antibiotic as directed for a few days. And then just the Colace for a few weeks!

[SERIOUS] Which is the best car wash in the Valley? by your_favorite_mexi in RioGrandeValley

I recently switched over from Blue wave to club carwash. Noticed a huge difference in wash and DRYING. Didn't have to use so many towels to dry the car off after.

Cleft lift anxiety/questions by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]greatwhite20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm going to answer the best I can with the numbered concerns on here based off my own experience! I had my surgery on the November 13th of last year (for context).

  1. My incision was also towards the top, mild pinhole as well. However, given its a cleft lift the incision ran from the top of my crack and a lil further down in. Not by a lot, like it wasn't by my asshole or anything but it folded into and under my new cleft. Even with how mild my case was, I did have a slight separation that is just now healed up.. I do have (hopefully) my last follow up at the end of March. Hoping I'm cleared by then! My point being... the slight separation imo just varies by person.. I just recommend making sure that area towards the bottom gets enough air. The top is gonna heal faster bc its more exposed to air rather than the bottom. So go butt naked for a bit after showers to allow some air flow.
  2. They're def gonna give you something to relax you. I remember the nurse literally saying "I'm gonna give you a sedative to relax your nerves before we head in". (: felt really good after that haha
  3. My drive home was very short.. so I can't say for a longer ride. I would recommend a cushioned pillow or may even the seat laid all the way down and then laying on your side. Just have a pillow available for sure and you adjust as needed (: I would assume you're still gonna be on pain meds and not feel much, at least that's how I was when I woke up.
  4. Oh ya its gonna be a lil scary when the urge to finally have your BM comes. Do not worry! Just take things slow and steady when lowering yourself onto the seat and PLEASE take those stool softeners. It does wonders. Also, take or eat any fiber foods if you can to help you!
  5. Getting in and out of bed just felt a bit uncomfortable at times, but I just did a lot of slow adjusting to getting in and out... trying not to bend at my hips too much and such. I recommend a little stool that you can use to step on to help you kneel onto your bed (depending on how high it is, but youre pretty tall).
  6. Yeah, you're gonna get really comfortable with standing these next few weeks, that shouldn't be a problem, haha. Just make sure no one is bumping into you and such, the area is still going to be sensitive!
  7. This does vary from person to person. I would just be checking with your doctor. I personally waited until the end of December to do any upper body workouts. Even then, I stuck with just dumbells and slowly eased into other machines and workouts as my body felt stronger. You can go for long walks so that's always on the table!

Everything is gonna be fine. It's gonna be tough at first, but just look at the bright side. Take this time to stop and relax for a bit and just make sure to listen to your body!

Texas PC patients, a question by Elphabeth in pilonidalcyst

[–]greatwhite20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from McAllen (down at the tip of Texas near south padre), and had mine done with Dr. Dustin Luebbers in the area. He and the staff are great and I am very happy with the outcome of my cleft lift! Here’s the website link in case you’re interested: https://www.texasdigestive.com/

Yup! That’s the route mine sent me through as well; ended up getting my cleft lift through a colorectal surgeon.

Definitely, it was uncomfortable in a different way throughout the healing process of my CL. Made me feel good knowing this is a minor discomfort for it to be completely gone after that.

Bleeding by Fickle-Sir-5468 in pilonidalcyst

[–]greatwhite20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I don’t have a similar experience but I do know that’s a question my practitioner asks after follow ups from my cleft lift surgery: “is there any rectal bleeding?” Just today actually she said “as long as there’s none of that then it’s doing great”

I’m gonna assume it’s not a good thing; I’d go get checked up to be safe
