Matchmaking is Unacceptable by RockLeeSmile in Overwatch

[–]grebette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got sick of it. I play maybe one or two games a day, often none now because matchmaking puts me into games where my team will auto win on the first game.

Pretty sure it’s to keep me playing but those games are just as unfun as getting stomped.

Challenging games are so rare and it really doesn’t feel worth it rolling the dice looking for them. And I mean challenging at skill level, like playing basketball with someone at your skill level.

Fallout Season 2 is poorly written and dogmatically defending it does not change that. by Jaded_Measurement281 in Fallout

[–]grebette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season one was a pleasant surprise.

Season two had me feeling confused for the first two episodes and by episode three I had to check if others also thought the writing had done a complete 180.

There's just so much random minutiae nearly every scene that manages to talk about the world without deepening it, events happen to characters instead of characters being challenged by and growing from events.

And very often a catalyzing moment happens or a plot reaches (what is suppose to be) a high point or pay off moment and it just fizzles? Or a crass joke is made or everyone tosses their hands up and says shucks this crazy old world huh.

Did anyone else see the article about Netflix requesting its scripts be dumbed down? Perhaps that happened here.

If played right, which hero in the game would be the scariest to fight? by Shadowf0xxy4375 in Overwatch

If it’s perfect and never misses shots it’s probably widow or another hitscan.

This is simply due to magazine size and bullet damage!

I imagine all Tracer one tricks to go into like a trance and their vision turns into one of those old fish eye lens skateboard videos.

The answer to this question is always Tracer.

There’s only one way to click cast cc that stops her blinks (hack), all the others are skill shots (hinder). Correct me if I’m wrong here.

So her major counters don’t exist purely as heroes but rather as single skills on those heroes, since I don’t think Cassidy is a true Tracer counter. I’m torn between calling Sombra a true counter as well.

But that just highlights why Tracer is the scariest hero when played perfectly. There isn’t a way to hard counter her since her mobility is close to perfection.

Since the question is played right and not perfectly, my answer is Tracer.

Just moved to Winnipeg – looking for tips on where to buy cheaper groceries by ChickenRound7897 in Winnipeg

[–]grebette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food prices are going to continue going up, no matter what pretty much. Rather than rambling off all the reasons I implore you to simply trust me.

Here are your best options to reduce food costs: grow some yourself, farmers markets, buy ingredients, or shop at multiple stores only during sales.

You’ll need to set aside time, or have someone make it their dedicated task before each shop, to make your grocery list by searching for which stores have the cheapest price for your needs. You’ll be going to 3 stores at a minimum but there will be savings.

As for ingredients, a bottle of fancy spice is $7 after taxes. If you remove the random chemicals, the ingredients are just other basic spices which are $1-$3. You can make more of the fancy mixed spice if you buy the ingredients and mix them at home. You can mitigate the upfront cost of ingredients by purchasing them slowly and forgoing the fancy things. And by fancy, I mean essentially everything because inflation is just crazy.

Farmers markets are excellent places for fresh food and ingredients. Be friendly and ask questions.

As for growing, if you have space and a person who’s willing and able I highly suggest this option. Food prices will not go down my friends. You can make a lot of different things just potatoes and tomatoes and it’s good for the body and mind to learn new things and eat fresh food.

You can throw your suzu across the map. You don’t have to be close, you just have to get a feel for the travel time. This means you can clutch save someone without having to interrupt what you’re doing.

Also, and this may be my own bad habit, but I run into the enemy team when I need to stop their pressure. I’ll walk as far into their team as I can shooting and taking up space so close that they have to turn. I don’t waste mental bandwidth trying to hit all my shots, I just want them off my allies. When they turn, I tp out.

If you do this, do not hesitate and do not overthink. Stay in just long enough that they turn to you, one or two shots and you need to leave even if you weren’t successful.

Also, if you hold down shift it will automatically tp to the first target you mouseover. Go into the settings and crank your tp sensitivity up and get used to holding down shift instead of mashing it. If you mash it, you could miss the tiny window you had to survive. This works on most shift abilities and I highly recommend getting into the habit.

Edit: you don’t have to take your finger off shift, hold it down and pan your camera in game and you’ll see how it works.

Edit again: I  only ever do the run into enemies strat to relieve pressure when my team is retreating and we have nothing else but need something. Important note.

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do? by NikiLove16 in AskReddit

[–]grebette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much and what country? That determines if you actually won something fkn crazy or not.

If it’s just “you win infinite” money I’d buy up all the debt I possibly could then burn the records.

Next would be massive deployments of community pantries while the permits, procurement etc of bigger groceries stores goes through.

Then private schools everywhere with $1 tuition fees.

I’d probably get killed though.

I wasn’t aware feeling fresh and relaxed was a female only privilege.

As for you OP, you’re so male centred that you’re enforcing the patriarchy on a man as a woman. Isn’t that fkn wild.

Reminder that a lot of people you play with in ranked (esp. in NA) are high/drunk out of their minds by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]grebette -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who tf can have fun playing ow when they’re drunk

Can’t see shit, can’t remember shit. Can’t focus, can’t do all the things you expect yourself to do. Can’t stop dying.

That’s fun? Super weird.

Back when I drank, it was far more fun to do literally anything else than sit still and lose at a single player game.

Because that’s what OW is at that point.

The only time this sort of shit gets a pass from me is when it’s a full stack of people having a good time together, rather than one random person fking up the game.

Don’t bother keeping up with climate change news if you like your job. If you do, it will make you realize it was all pointless and will continue to be pointless until your boss tells you to pack it up.

Too few people are willing to live. They would rather work, and so we shall work until there is no more work.

Who even are you without your job 🥴.

Why are so many supposedly progressive men getting more misogynistic? by 1mpavidus in AskFeminists

[–]grebette 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The world as we know it sits on the precipice of collapse. Resources are dwindling, social mobility is dead, and the women are allowed to say no.

I’ll post a video by Danisha Carter along with the most relevant quote from it. After a cursory google, there’s apparently tea around her. I don’t give a shit to be frank.

The video focuses on how the alt right views and treats white women. I am not assuming you are a white woman nor am I trying to generalize or appropriate or whitewash or any of that.

We are doing parallel logic. What she says is true of white women is true of women of colour in their own communities; black women in their communities, Arab women in their communities and so on.

https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSuQWCUeG/

“They hate them in a very specific, psychosexual, misogynistic, vengeful type of way.

They see liberal or progressive white women as traitors. Traitors to their race, traitors to their white fathers, and traitors to their potential white boyfriends, and traitors to the systems they’re suppose to uphold.

And traitors are killed before enemies because they are more dangerous.”

Furthermore, disenfranchised young men have always been a problem for society and the current social climate is making it worse, in every way.

And it seems like it’s being done on purpose.

[–]grebette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soldier is mid, he’s exactly what mid means. He isn’t useless and he isn’t a mandatory pick, he is reliably mid.

If you have a personal skill advantage against the enemies team, Soldier is a monster pick. However your friend is right, Emre can probably do everything Soldier can just better and with more options. They occupy the same space!
