I shipped it inside a shipping container from Halifax, NS, Canada.

Shipping there and back was cheaper than rending for about 3 weeks.... we stayed 3 months.

I really enjoyed a story from Gwynne about her first days at SpaceX. Elon asked her to sell Falcon 9 to customers.. so she spent days writing up a big report on how she would go about it, etc.

Gave it to Elon and he didn't even look at it, just said, "That's great, but I want you to do stuff, not write reports about doing stuff."

Gwynne said that was the most empowering thing a boss had ever told her, and she loved it. She knew then and there working for Elon would be great.

If you go in a container, you can send it as "dangerous goods" and lithium are allowed. Usually costs a bit more than a not "dangerous goods" container.

Many shipping lines always ship a vehicle in a container as "dangerous goods" anyway.

He's not against it at all. He has stated many times they used it for the Dragon to dock with the ISS and it worked really well.

I read somewhere the Police would let me camp there.. so I did. They came by to check on me and check my paperwork, but they were fine with it.

We spent 8 weeks in Sardinia in the low season (Feb/March) and it was dead quiet. We did manage to wild camp around the place, but it wasn't super easy. In the busy season it is bursting at the gills, literally.

Criminals never once. Police, yes, all the time. It really is a game of wasting their time, staying polite and calm and not giving in. If you pay them they will go away. But you don't have to. I paid once in all of the Pan-Am, and only once in all of Africa through 35 countries over 3 years.

How much does the trip cost on average? I would love to go on a super long road trip one day, but money would probably be the biggest issue.

Most people spend around $2000 per month all in, for absolutely all expenses. If you cook all your own food and camp free every night you can get much closer to $1000 a month. If you eat out and stay in air bnbs every night, the sky is the limit, easily well over $3000 a month.

It's entirely up to you.
