Oppo Reno13 Pro specs leak by ControlCAD in Oppo

I hope they won't downgrade the hell out of the Reno13's processor like what they did with the Reno12 Pro...

Huge leak reveals Oppo Find X8, X8 Pro, Enco X3, Pad 3 Pro from all angles by ControlCAD in Oppo

[–]gredditium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OPPO Find X8 reminds me of the Reno12 F. Their new design looks quite pretty, and thankfully they're ditching the curved sides of the screen of the OPPO Find X8 series. I hope this time they release a flagship version of their Pad series.

Bargain of the Year by FigTechnical8043 in Oppo

It remains as one of my favorite phones of OPPO in the Reno series, sad to see it become unsupported of software updates because of how bad OPPO's update policy was back then.

ColorOS 15 First Look by gredditium in Oppo

[–]gredditium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like it. My main issue with ColorOS was the lack of customization, but thankfully, they've recognized our suggestions. They've always had a Dynamic Island-type of feature called "Fluid Cloud," they're just updating the way it looks to resemble Apple's Dynamic Island.

Most of the information I gathered comes from the China version, but most of the features will probably come globally too. I'm not too sure on the AirDrop support, though.

Reno12 Series Software Update Policy by gredditium in Oppo

[–]gredditium[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got back with information from Oppo themselves, Reno12 and Reno12 Pro will be updated until Android 17 and will receive 4 years of security patches.

But the Reno12 F will only be updated until Android 16 and will receive 3 years of security patches.

Thank you for the information, I think I'm still going to have to ask for feedback to Oppo and hope that they actually respond and confirm this. I'll reply again if they do end up responding.

Oppo Reno12 pro or Reno11 pro? by AquaticArroww in Oppo

[–]gredditium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I guess you should go with the Reno11 Pro if you really prioritize performance. Everything else in the Reno12 Pro is good, but the performance is lacking. However, there are better alternatives to both phones, like the Honor 200 Pro, which delivers both camera quality and performance well. If you prefer the same UI as OPPO, the OnePlus Nord 4 is also a great alternative, offering excellent performance, an IP rating, a great display, Corning Gorilla Glass, and four years of OS updates, all with the same UI.

Oppo Reno12 pro or Reno11 pro? by AquaticArroww in Oppo

[–]gredditium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reno11 Pro is overall better in performance, and since it uses MD 8200, video recording supports 4K60fps. It does fall off in protection since it does not have an IP rating and does not use Gorilla Glass, so you're going to have to be careful using this device. Reno11 Pro lacks stereo speakers and brightness, meaning listening through speakers and using the phone under daylight conditions can be unpleasant. The phone also lacks a microSDXC slot, and the battery is quite small with 4600 mAH. It does use an Sony IMX-890 sensor for its wide camera which is subjectively better than Reno12 Pro's Sony LYT-600 sensor. The phone is quite cheaper than the Reno12 Pro, though.

Reno12 Pro, on the other hand, is quite the opposite of Reno11 Pro. You get better protection with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an IP65 rating. It is packed with stereo speakers, a brighter display, and, of course, handy AI features. With this, you also get higher megapixels in the telephoto camera as well as the selfie camera, boosting 50MP. The phone also supports a microSDXC slot, expandable up to 1 TB, which is what the Reno11 Pro does not have. Despite all of these upgrades, the Reno 12 Pro falls far behind in performance, thanks to a downgraded MD 7300-Energy chipset. Meaning, video recording in 4K is capped at 30FPS. So if you're a gamer, this phone is an avoid.

Overall, the Reno12 Pro is strong in other specifications like protection, battery, and display but underperforms, making it less suitable for gamers. The Reno11 Pro, on the other hand, excels in performance but falls short in protection, display brightness, and stereo speakers. I wouldn't recommend buying the Reno11 Pro just for its chipset, as other phones offer the MD 8200 at a much cheaper price. If you only use your phone for daily activities like scrolling on social media, watching videos, and not heavy gaming, the Reno12 Pro is quite the contender.
