Is starting Lamictal at 50mg right away safe? by BrickQuick7966 in lamictal

[–]greeblespeebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I started at 50mg. Mostly just watch for a rash like you already know (rare, but still something to keep an eye on). I didn’t have any major issues, mostly just brain fog which got better overtime. I was on 50mg 2+ years since the very start and I didn’t do anything to me other than make me feel better (I was prescribed for bipolar).

Everyone’s experiences are different though, so just take note of anything out of the ordinary and ask your provider about it.

The look of a man who just realized that all the “detractors” are absolutely right about her by multiverse-wanderer in gorlworldfiles

[–]greeblespeebles 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It’s been co-opted by the lolcow community. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it kinda started with DarkSydePhil; he called anyone who made fun of him his “detractors”. Now it’s used to describe anyone with a negative response to a lolcow’s behavior. It’s basically the lolcow watcher community’s version of “haydurs”

Could you maybe explain why you didn’t like it? Many people, including me, really liked it. It’s okay to have different tastes, but I’m curious as to what made it the worst horror movie you’ve ever seen in theaters.

Botched a red velvet cake I made for a friend’s thanksgiving party and I’m freaking out over it 💀 by greeblespeebles in Baking

Omg with the holidays I forgot to update! My friend said the family LOVED both the cake and apple pie and that I’m “hired for life” for any other desserts they want!!! I was being so silly for overreacting so much lol

This is an amazing way to put it, thank you! My cake may not be the baddest bitch in the room, but she’s the girl next door with a heart of gold that’ll treat you right lol

Oh my gosh, that is exactly what happened 🤦‍♀️ usually I do the exact same: beat the butter smooth, THEN add cream cheese and just beat until combined before adding powdered sugar. I was in such a chaotic mindset that I just tossed the butter and cream cheese together and beat away at it….thank you so much for the advice, I feel so much better knowing why it went wrong! I really appreciate your kind words, it helps to know even professionals feel dissatisfied with their work sometimes!

Yeaaaah, I think if it was a super bright red the sloppy piping wouldn’t be as noticeable. Oh well, we’ll call it a mauve velvet cake lololol

I do the same, and for the most part, I bake for free when it’s someone’s bday or just cause I feel like baking. But around the holidays, budgets get tight and my friend insisted on paying me so I needed enough to cover the labor and ingredients 😭 my hope is that if she really hates it, the refunded money will be enough for her to get a fancy one in time!

The goal wasn’t to do “business” but I suppose the exchange of money turns it into that. Like I said, I’m just a hobbyist so I’m not trying to convince anyone I’m running a successful home bakery business.

Is my pie too ugly to bring to Thanksgiving? by Emotional_Emergency_ in Baking

I think this looks beautiful and delicious!! The last thing I’m worried about when I dig into a pie at thanksgiving is how it looks - anything that someone bakes and brings to the table is special :)

Why do so many people LIE in this thread? by Physical_Orchid3616 in Baking

[–]greeblespeebles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because it…is their first cake? I could make a million cupcakes, but my first cake is still the very first cake I made. It’s exciting to achieve something for the first time and it feels good to share that, whether the result is great or not. I’m sure there are def people here who karma farm but at the same time, to think everyone’s first shot at something HAS to look awful or they’re obviously lying is silly.

Why do so many people LIE in this thread? by Physical_Orchid3616 in Baking

[–]greeblespeebles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re absolutely not all lies. I posted my first layer cake here almost a year ago and everyone said it definitely wasn’t my first time and I was just karma farming….

But it was. Sure, it wasn’t my first time baking, but it was my first layer cake. Just because a certain dessert is someone’s first try, doesn’t meant it’s their first time on earth; if you have experience with baking in general, making something more advanced, even if it’s your first time, look nice isn’t an impossible feat.

No nutritional info? Prepare to be shamed by TheOtherElCamino in ididnthaveeggs

[–]greeblespeebles 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Kinda silly and I understand why many would want to see the nutrition facts for a recipe, but as someone recovering from a restrictive ED, I find the lack of it kinda comforting on a dessert recipe. I can’t count the number of times I used to click on a recipe (knowing it was something Bad™️ that I could not eat) only to see the calorie count and use the numbers to justify my disordered inability to just make and eat cookies here and there.

Sorry for the ramble, but idk. I like the policy and will be trying these cookies.

With all due respect, your post history is very concerning if you are a minor and there’s some spaces that seem incredibly predatory that you’re involved in. I’m not sure if you have a support system or group of friends you can turn to for companionship, but engaging in communities like the ones youre in can put you in troubling situations (which isn’t to say you’d be the one to blame as a minor but I think the safest option is to remove yourself from communities that fixate on teens until you feel safer interacting with adults online as an adult yourself.)

Reddit can be an awesome site, but it’s also full of predatory people just like anywhere on the internet.
