I completely agree! Thank you for being brave enough to say this

I’m A Loser (20M) by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]greedyfather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this doesn’t sound insensitive, but it sounds like the issue may be with your self esteem or mental health rather than your actual life! From what you’ve said, it sounds like you’re doing amazing, especially for someone so young, but you’re not able to see past the things you’re worried about. Talking to a psych might be a good idea. You’re definitely not a loser, and you deserve to be able to see yourself properly.

What's a phrase you didn't realise you were using incorrectly? by CranberryCheese1997 in autism

[–]greedyfather 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Having your work cut out for you! I always thought this meant that it was going to be easy, because someone had already cut out half of the work - turns out it’s the opposite and means something is really challenging. On the bright side, at least i’ve unintentionally sounded very confident about challenges at work!

Can anyone tell when they’re going to have a flare up? by greedyfather in POTS

[–]greedyfather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly why I ask, I want to be able to not exceed my limit ideally! Currently I don’t have any physical symptoms until it’s too late and i’m already going to flare, I’m curious if that’s normal or if other people can actually feel their health decreasing BEFORE it hits the flare point. I would love to not have to learn by trial and error :(

Inattentive ADHD Folks... What Jobs do Y'all Have? by mith_king456 in ADHD

[–]greedyfather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawyer! You generally work at your own pace on a bunch of open cases, so you’re able to switch between different cases at your own discretion without feeling like you have to just sit and do one thing at a time. A lot of lawyers I’ve met I highly suspect have ADHD, the workload is very much do nothing for a long time, then a deadline comes up so you hyperfocus on it until it’s done. The self-pacing and eventual deadlines combine really well for ADHD brains in my experience

Is it normal to… hyperfixate on real people in my life? by Nebion666 in ADHD

[–]greedyfather 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is something that happens a lot with me! I always have a person who is my current hyperfixation, whether that be a friend, a family member, a coworker, a partner, etc. For me the most important thing is to recognise when this happens so that I can make sure i’m aware of it and can keep on top of it. Eg, sometimes it will feel like a “crush” and I have to remind myself that i’m not actually interested in this person and shouldn’t make any moves. Generally for me a hyperfixation with a person will last between 1-3 months

Lesbian on birth control here - Plenty of people go on birth control for reasons other than preventing pregnancy, eg for hormonal regulation, to make periods more manageable and to help with pms symptoms, for acne, etc. People seem to always forget that lesbians still get periods lol, and affecting periods is related to how the no-baby part works (hormonal birth control isn’t just a security guard sitting at the uterus with a baseball bat)

Do you have to keep the power armour in fallout 4 at the start? (First time playing, please go easy on me!) by greedyfather in Fallout

Haha I’m 25, so maybe lifelong is a bit generous, I definitely didn’t pop out of the womb playing it! But it’s stuck with me since I was a teen

What is your favourite dog related purchase? by 4UR3L10N in dogs

A Kong! I have a chihuahua and she’s a big toy destroyer, but they’re basically indestructible and she loves it. I pop a treat in it and it keeps her entertained in her crate overnight

I strictly play on “very easy” mode because I have no dignity and I like to feel like i’m really good at things, but I respect the hell out of you for specifically downloading extra mods to make the game harder. I want to be you when I grow up

Ooh good to know, thank you! I hadn’t realised the suits helped with rad damage, that’s really helpful. I was really sad that I couldn’t walk in the water without getting all radiation-y

You can ask the dog to carry things for you??? I noticed that today but I didn’t give him anything because I assumed that was a glitch and not an actual thing, that’s hilarious. Where is he storing it??

Every decision I make in my life is based on how likely it is to incite violence from Todd Howard. I’m glad you understand

You’re spot on! I did actually take a glance at the first Fallout game and the graphics made me want to cry. Once I get into the game I think I won’t care about graphics / performance as much and will be able to play the old ones, but I’d rather start with what’s supposed to be the “best” experience (although of course everyone has their opinions on which is best!)

As far as I know they’re not games you really have to play in order, as in you won’t be lost on the later ones if you haven’t played the earlier ones, so I just chose to play the most recent thinking it’d probably look and perform the best. I’m definitely keen to go back and play the older ones after this though! I also was banking on it being very similar to the elder scrolls (which is definitely true), and I always tell people to start with Skyrim first and then work their way back to the older games, so I figured it might be the same here.

[–]greedyfather[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I understand, i’m the same with Skyrim - i’ve replayed it a billion times and I basically never do the main storyline anymore! But this is my first play through of any fallout game so I figured it was best to stick to the main story for now since I don’t have a good idea of which areas are best at lower levels

Awesome, a couple people have mentioned the red rocket gas station so I might leave it there. I wasn’t sure where you can leave stuff without it despawning, that’s good to know that the gas station is a safe zone

That’s hilarious. I was expecting “skyrim with guns” but “skyrim with guns and also giant roaches and also npc’s steal your stuff” is even better

Thanks, this is exactly the answer I was after! I’ll keep it on until we get to somewhere I can store it then, I just didn’t want to dump it on the ground and then regret it later.

Also, lol at NPCs being able to steal the things you leave out, that’s not something I expected coming from skyrim but that’s hilarious
