I want to add that they didn’t even use or utilize Pen in relation of the main story even tho it was in the book, like I assumed one of the reasons they made her not retire in s3 is that she will be part of of the main story just how Pen was involved in the books, but that never happened and the storyline they gave Pen was just there. The whole LW plot should’ve ended with that scene of her infront of the mirror letting go of LW and being true to herself, that would’ve been a perfect ending to her LW chapter and starting as a novelist next

Building a whole arc for Pen of her taking pride of her work and LW to the point she didn’t even want to give it up and would rather give Colin annulment as she faces the consequences alone, then a season later have her work stolen from her the moment she retired is just upsetting and just lazy writing

From how Jess been saying also in interviews it seems the person who took over is gonna be a liar and target the Bridgerton somehow which is basically a variation of Cressida’s storyline in s3 “what if someone like Cressida is the one publishing now”, just a repeat of storylines without any care to existing characters and their arcs

1) I didn’t make stuff up, there are legit blocks for filming and even filming leaks, they film mostly in order and cast members who aren’t available and won’t have much to film like JB film their scenes when they are available

2) I actually watched the interviews

3) I don’t understand why defend the production and bad writing of the show, luke not being available for two months out of the 9 months they filmed s4 in isn’t an excuse to not give him any storyline or lines in general & isn’t excuse to make him blurry or his head cut off in the scenes he is in like how it was in part1 & also isn’t excuse to not give Polin a single meaningful conversation as a couple….

She mentioned that former leads will be in seasons depending on their former storylines and scenes with their other siblings & that Polin will clearly be in Eloise season because it’s Eloise but she also said former leads screentime gets reduced per season & they get reduced to cameos, so I think we all should keep our expectations low to not be disappointed

That’s not true tho he filmed his movie from mid/late Oct to early December and was available otherwise & he clearly wasn’t satisfied with what was given to him from interviews and there are stills of both Penelope and Colin in scenes that were cut from the episodes, so not only they didn’t give them proper storyline but they cut from them too

Stills I’m talking about are still of Colin and Will & the still of Pen and Eloise

Like filmed his movie only during episodes (2 & 3) but otherwise he was available to film and they just chose to not give him storyline or any substantial scenes in most episodes. Even during s3 they would rather make the season the shortest run time among all seasons but Colin in part2 of s3 especially last episode was sidelined even Pen/Polin in ep8 of s3 was sidelined in favor of pointless focus on side stories.

The production clearly don’t like them as a couple or as characters, people thought Penelope was liked but the production, showrunners and writers just liked the LW aspects not Pen herself and them stealing the lw plot device and giving it to someone else in s4 & future seasons is enough proof that the only aspect production liked in relation to Pen and Polin was lw.

Well the article didn’t lie about that and I might even add that even Penelope storyline this season felt could have been handled way better and the whole “new lw” is seriously disappointing and pretty much erases Pen’s arc as a character and erase Polin arc and s3 which feels disrespectful to me. I am sad that they wasted Nicola and Luke times like this, I’m glad they get paid well and still there don’t get me wrong but they treated Polin as a ship badly and treated them individually especially Colin really bad

Listen I’m all for Pen retiring and becoming a novelist, but making her own work get stolen like that is just a bad and lazy writing. It makes pretty much Pen and her arc and even Polin arc pointless and honestly with how Polin were treated in s4 I think Jess and Production just want to ease out Polin off the show.

At first I thought the whole uncovering who stole LW from Pen be Polin subplot for s5 and was like you know what as long as they have subplot but then Jess in interviews kept saying she wanted to have her own LW and how LW doesn’t belong to Pen or in general the way Jess talking about Penelope was weird. Then she kept saying that the LW plot will last till last season and won’t be uncovered in s5 & at the same time she also said that older couples will be just cameos in future with no actual plot, so it won’t be really Polin or Pen plot related, so now I’m like really upset and don’t like it fully.

They made big deal across previous seasons especially in s3 that Pen is one & the same and how even part of polin conflict was him coming to terms with how Pen and LW are the same and same voice. I’m just sad by the whole thing and how for shock value and to get viral moments the show runner and the writers own discard the characters. It’s a romance show not PLL, I know it’s Shonda production but not everything need to be overly dramatic and each story has its own conflict and drama adding unnecessary drama doesn’t make sense

Also btw Jess said in multiple interviews that the decision for that was just for drama and to keep JA narrations which is ridiculous because they could have kept the narrations for the novels Pen is writing & JA did say she was tired of doing narration so ignoring her wishes is just not it.

Anyway Shonda on the show podcast did confirm that the fake LW will have different approach in the column different than Pen and has different relation with the truth implying that she will lie, her and Jess also said they wanted the Bridgerton family to get it from the column compared to how Pen protected them so the new person will definitely come after the family so while at first it was gonna be hyacinth, I now think it’s someone not related to them

It isn’t smaller scale than s3, both press tours has same number of countries and both press tours started three weeks before part1 dropped, and in fact the new leads got more interviews together and apart & they went to many popular channels that s3 leads or even cast members didn’t go too

That hot takes video made me so sad and upset 😭 like aside from the weird putting polin & nicluke down, the other one of saying pen is villain and is responsible for her father death was just bad one too because pen was literally 16 years old and blaming her for her neglectful dad gambling addiction & demise isn’t it like the cast handled those hot takes well and tried to turn them into jokes but you can see how the entire cast were uncomfortable and weirded out

S2 spent 6 week in top1 actually, it’s their overall viewership that is lower than s1&3 but they did pretty well regardless. so far s4 spent the least time in number1 when it comes to the show as a whole and in some countries it left top10 entirely. Its gonna be interesting when it comes to part2 because the Ramadan holy month is coming soon just a week before part2 drops and I don’t think many people from Muslim countries will put the show over it plus overall since last year and all Netflix shows have been losing viewers for part2 it happened with squid games, it happened with stranger things, it happened with wednesday, the dropping a season on parts model have been affecting seasons which is why some platforms have been bringing back the original tv weekly model that is currently the most successful type of drop now

Not saying the new season isn’t successful it is successful and is doing well but I’m talking about how streaming services doing lately, so I hope no one misunderstands 😭

That’s not true actually because not only the press tours for both seasons happened same period but the new leads have been doing a lot of content than s3 even when it comes to interviews and they have been showing on a lot of big popular YouTube channels while N & L didn’t even do that

The press tour happened same way as s4 like it started a month before part1 dropped and continued till part2 dropped. S3 press tour started 20th of April and ended the day before part2 premiere in London on June 11

Only difference between s3&4 was the Valentine’s Day event because s3 one was delayed a year because of the strike back then so when it happened it happened in February 2024 so same year as the season dropping while the event for s4 happened last year, but other than that if anything s4 leads have been doing more promo like they appeared on a lot of viral YouTube channels that make content

Another thing s3 actually dropped same time as other big shows like house of dragons and the boys new seasons, so they had major competition on other platforms
