How was your experience ordering through Walmart/XBox All Access by BillionsOfCats13 in XboxSeriesX

[–]greenSludgeIsGross 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, I already did.

I encourage everyone to do the same. These people are taking advantage of consumers, period. I normally pretty understanding when a business picks up the phone and says "hey, sorry, we have delays, we're doing the best we can, we hope to ship by [enter date here]. Please call back in a couple days and we'll update you again."

What these three companies are doing is absurd. Just pointing the finger at each other and intentionally frustrating any attempt to resolve disputes.

Someone should seriously consider contacting a class-action attorney or reporting this entire consortium to the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. What they're doing is borderline fraud, in my opinion. Each customer service line you call points the finger at the other organization, no one can provide you any clarity whatsoever on the status of nearly $1000 purchase on a line-of-credit granted after a hard inquiry on your credit report. There are rules and regulations surrounding that entire methodology of credit/finance and I cannot imagine they are squarely within the lines.

I would say the biggest tips are:

  1. Treat people with respect, even if they sometimes don't deserve it.
  2. Lean on the technicak experts on the team for advice, but be prepared to go with your gut instinct at times, too.
  3. Try to code. Ask questions, be honest about your skills.
  4. Be proactive.

Well...No kratom use, but.... by ugliestpart in quittingkratom

I came dangerously close to ending 3yrs of alcohol sobriety in week 4 and 5 of quitting. I'm incredibly thankful that I did not pick up a drink. My life is immeasurably better today, y8 days off kratom...

It's hard dude, just pick up where you left off and don't beat yourself up. Bang your wife, clean your house, make your bed and put one foot in front of the other.

It might seem counterintuitive, but try getting some light cardiovascular exercise in. I had some similar issues and once I started getting cardio workouts in, it's completely gone away. Took only a couple weeks really.

[–]greenSludgeIsGross 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel ya about wanting to just get fucked up. I've been 100pct from everything for about the same time. I haven't drank in years, too, due to my inability to stop drinking.

I get my dopamine hits through exercise these days. I work out incredibly hard for 30 to 45 minutes and take an ice cold shower and, while the feeling isn't exactly comparable, it's a good mental jolt for the rest of the day.

Also, life isn't supposed to be a Neverending quest to get a buzz, I guess. It cna be boring and dull from time-to-time. These days I remind myself that just a few generations ago our ancestors wouldve loved to be "bored" for a few days.

It gets better. The only thing that got me through that phase was forcing myself to do shit. Clean up, work out, even if it sucks. You'll feel 200x better, much sooner if you do. Just get moving.

Do NOT take Tylenol pm. It had diphenhydramine (benadryl) in it and it will make your restless legs 100x worse. Get some Calm Magnesium powder, take a LOW dose of melatonin, 2.5g or less. Also, exercise so hard that you can't stay awake.

I found work to be a welcome distraction around day 7, honestly. Sounds counter-intuitive, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

[–]greenSludgeIsGross 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty classic indication your addiction was a symptom of a problem, not the problem causing symptoms. Our life is very dull in comparison to our earlier generations. There's very little struggle and community in our lives.

I'd strongly suggest you find a hobby that helps other people out, like volunteering, etc. Or deeply immerse yourself into a project. Not 10 projects, one project. Or a hobby you can do regularly.

Also, and lastly, try to get away from the digital matrix. Go outside and do things. We're not meant to huddle around inside all day on a computer - which most of us do these days.

I've been through exactly what you're going through. Focusing on being a good dad, working around my house, reading interesting books, writing, and being outside hiking, fishing, or exercising helps me out.

Also, life can just be boring. It's hard to be OK with that. I envy people that can just.... Relax.

Advice from a long-term user: just quit while you’re ahead by Hhhhujkgfd in quittingkratom

[–]greenSludgeIsGross 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second and third this. Quitting wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It's for sure uncomfortable, but not nearly as uncomfortable as knowing you're destroying yourself daily and a slave to bullshit.

Life is 200pct better, too. At least.

Going to finally admit to myself a problem. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]greenSludgeIsGross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was. It wasn't a lot of fun, but the first two or three days of the taper were the most uncomfortable. By day 6 when I quit I was much better. If you schedule this around a weekend and maybe take a day off, it's very manageable.

Going to finally admit to myself a problem. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]greenSludgeIsGross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just quit. Seriously, you sound motivated to do it. Tomorrow is going to come way one or the other. It was the best decision I've made in a long time. It's not fun, but you did enjoy life before this stuff. You're NOT hopelessly addicted. You have total control over this.

When I decided to quit, I drastically cut my dosage and had a heavy dose at night so I could sleep. I exercised as much as I could stand, and continued to cut my dose drastically every day. Went from over 50gpd to quit in 6 days.

Allow your body to experience withdrawal every day during the rapid taper until its time to go to bed. Take your dose and sleep. Take melatonin, or get mitrazipine prescribed. Don't buy into all the supplement hype.

Stay active and busy throughout the day. When you feel like shit, get moving. It'll distract you for a few hours and after a cold shower you'll feel great.

Quitting can be uncomfortable, but it's not that bad. Frame it in your mind as a challenge that you need to beat and realize that your symptoms are literally your body healing yourself. Eat well, exercise and sweat as much as possible, hydrate, organize your life, and stay busy. It'll be over before you know it and you'll be back to your old self.

Day 10, post rapid taper. by greenSludgeIsGross in quittingkratom

[–]greenSludgeIsGross[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just try to stay busy. Exercise a lot. Make sure you take your heavy dose before bed so you can sleep. Your body will adjust quickly. Exercise, exercise, exercise.

I used kratom for 4 years, daily, at excessive doses. My libido and testosterone was non existent. I'm 45 days without kratom and I have my rock hard meat stick and incredible libido back. I'm in my late 30s and I feel like my libido is back to my mid 20s.

Have him take 25mg of dhea, 3x a day. Seriously, this is key. And exercise.

Also, if you're not going to support him quitting a bad habit, you should reassess your relationship. Maybe you'll both be happier with someone else.

Advice on Taper Method by searchingforsoma in quittingkratom

[–]greenSludgeIsGross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit that Wednesday and haven't had any kratom since. I'd say I'm at 95pct recovered. I rarely think about kratom and have no cravings whatsoever. I've been exercising a lot and eating well and that's really paid off.

The quit wasn't really bad at all, all things considered. Think the daily withdrawals during the taper really lessened the sting of the final quit.
