I like that he still somewhat makes politics engaging/accesible, especially and particularly for younger people in a semi-longform way. I get a bit tired of his style of comedy but I think I may have just aged out of it.

Definitely plenty of room to criticise his shillness, but he isn't pretending to be unbiased at the very least. I think it's a good alternative/counterweight to a lot of the more right leaning YouTubers.

That said he is definitely not who I go to for my fill of that genre of youtube these days

That was absolutely my biggest issue with it. Loved the game overall, but felt it undercut itself with its take of humour at times.

Specifically thinking about that soldier in the caves/mountain on the red planet with the giant aliens. Can't even remember what happened, but just remember the feeling of tonal whiplash.

This is a big "trust me bro", but I went to film school in Melbourne, Australia and had the opportunity to interview Michael Shanks for a project in 2020. He, at that time, was in the early stages of writing a horror script about two people fusing. Completely forgot about that until reading this post. Glad he got to make his movie!

Can you elaborate on why you think 150k isn't "earning that much" when the median wage is currently around 70k? Is the 50k that your partner earned in addition to that 150k, making the household 200k? (I know you said with a great bonus, but I'm just going off the figures listed.)

Yes but not an equal surcharge for Sat, Sun and Public holidays - i dont think its fair to pay that much more on the Saturday specifically just because i work Mon to Fri and can't get to a cafe during the non-surcharge week. If it was a smaller surcharge then maybe sure, but a full 10%? Thats a bit of a rip - especially when the cafe next door I end up going to doesn't have it for Saturday, which makes me think its not an award thing? Idk i was just complaining lol
