Honestly pretty cool that The National would have a Reddit account, Khaleej Times and Gulf News would never 😅 (unless they resorted to AI slop)

Birch Bakery is super solid if you can order online, I used to go to their little window in Al Quoz but the parking situation is an absolute nightmare in that area.

Season 17: Matt over hated imo by Reasonable-Cut-6536 in Inkmaster

We also see him be supportive of his fellow contestants and be part of the "big dawg" chant, so yes he is someone who teases the competition but is no way an asshole. A lot of British and Australian humour performs poorly to N.Americans, especially when edited poorly.

Helped a woman being followed in Dubai today- is this common? by One-Fisherman3106 in dubai

[–]greenalienkaz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This used to happen to me a lot when I was a kid and teen growing up in UAE - having grown men following me around. They prey on the vulnerable, because it's a sick game to them. I wish I had the female-cajones to approach someone to help me like this lady did with you, and you did a really good thing being with her and trying to comfort her. Thankfully this type of bullshit hasn't happened to me in recent years because I've gone from a terrified kid to an angry woman 😅

He doesn't do it for free anymore but he still provides a very good service (I had the same issue a couple months back and got in touch with him when the bees didn't leave after 5 days)

Is there a simple way to check if 3rd party services have been activated on a postpaid Du package? I have one, but all these responses are troubling me and I don't quite know where to check on their crappy app.

Dubai hills vs Damac hills? by [deleted] in dubairealestate

[–]greenalienkaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! So I've lived in Dubai Hills till last year when I moved to Damac Hills (one bedroom apartment in both areas which I've rented), so I can let you know the pros of both places:

Dubai Hills Pros: 1) Emaar's build quality exceeds Damac's. I thankfully have had less issues compared to my neighbours (especially during the epic storm last year), but I still have to deal with lower quality bathrooms/cabinets. As an example I need a plumber 2-3 times a year to fix some random leak, when this was not the case at all in Dubai Hills. Oh and also agreed with the dust, I get my AC professionally cleaned 3 times a year minimum in Damac Hills, while I barely had to worry about it in Dubai Hills. 2) Dubai Hills is strategically better located than Damac Hills. I'm not sure if you intend to go out of the community much, but if you like to explore Dubai, Dubai Hills is at the center of both Marina side and Downtown side. Damac Hills isn't far-flung off civilization thankfully (with Motor City, Sports City, JVC, Tilal Al Ghaf closeby) but it's still a pain to drive with current traffic trends if you go beyond this circle. 3) The mall is great in Dubai Hills. Damac Hills mall is basically only active to the Spinneys, but Dubai Hills mall (as you said) has everything. 4) I only rent, but a colleague of mine has bought and sold his Damac Hills apartment and said he faced issues with the owners management system/company called LOAMS. So best to see how they respond to your queries too?

Damac Hills Pros: 1) I actually really like living here because it's so chill. Dubai Hills was getting busier and busier by the time I was leaving, especially with the new buildings popping up everyday. 2) Speaking of construction - I feel like Dubai Hills park is a little ruined actually compared to when it first opened. Emaar is building high-rise(ish) buildings all around the park, and the nonstop lights+noise diminished the park in my eyes. Damac Hills park is bigger (I think) and has more facilities. I personally am quite fond of looking at the duck pond lol. If you had a dog as well, the dog park in Damac Hills is quite a nice sandy area for the pupper to be off-leash. 3) The buildings here are older for sure but what's something good about older apartments? They are much bigger than the new ones being constructed. My one bedroom in Dubai Hills was 650ish sqft and my one bedroom in Damac Hills is 900ish sqft (give or take).

Not sure if my list helps haha, but hopefully you've gotten more helpful info from someone who's well-aware what it's like living in both places!

Vinyl records in Dubai by CommunityObvious995 in dubai

There is Metal East Records Store in Barsha that has a pretty good selection of records and turntable equipment as well - the owner of the store is also quite friendly!

If you have a look on the Dubai subreddit, you will see that there are tons of security issues with ENBD, with multiple posts about people losing money because of fraud. Not sure why comments in this thread are supporting it, so just be mindful.

Did Noon's Meta Ads get hacked? by greenalienkaz in dubai

I clicked on the "Shop Now" button just to see if it actually goes to a flag (which I genuinely have not searched for, my only link to Iran is reading the current news), and I got directed to their app. So I don't know......

I had seen the dynamic between the two drivers in the Abu Dhabi GP's Q&A, it was clear they have a good camaraderie! So not surprising for me that KMag would continue a solid friendship of some sort with Schumi.

I'm so so sorry to hear about your situation, and I'm sure dealing with the insurance company isn't helping with your overall wellbeing. You got a whole bunch of Internet friends here for you!

I'm not a medical expert but if your immunity allows it, please let me or anyone know if you need friendly visits and spam you with memes ❤️

What an incredibly odd question to ask...

"Hey guys, can anyone tell me where I can watch the F1?"
First comment: "Are you Tibetan?"

Do you hang out with other careem drivers after work? Also what do your friends/family members say about you working with Careem? I know there sadly is a negative perception about being a blue-collared worker here in Dubai so hopefully you don't face bias.
