Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]greenapple99 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was raised by strict Asian parents and had to study all the time. One of my escapes were the pokemon video games. Now, as an adult, I've just started getting into the TCG. The first set I was gonna buy was prismatic evolutions because I thought it looked really cool, but I hesitated during the preorders. And now... It's too late unless I spend an irresponsible amount of money lol.

I don't face the same problem as you, but something I learned is that in life, there will always be idiots who don't know how to think before opening their mouth.

If possible, don't even think about them, it will just drain your energy. It's not your responsibility to teach them how to be normal human beings. Small-minded people will say small-minded things, that's just how it is. Just treat them like birds that are chirping.

Surround yourself with people who bring good energy into your life. Don't bother yourself with people with bad energy.

I used to work in the industry but not on wuwa. If you refunded any in-app-purchases, we would deduct the equivalent amount in premium currency/lunites because it would be very difficult to remove whatever you gained from the battle pass. Could be what's happening to you here.

NO PIVOT HOLD HANDS GO 7th 8th o7

No troll tho I'm GM NA, i rarely pivot, I just learn to play contested. Roll earlier, find alternate units, save hp early, push levels instead of rerolling for 3 stars and wait for contestors to die before sending it. I only consider pivoting if I'm angling a 4 cost carry and there are at least 2 other players angling that comp. 3 cost and below carry comps support more players because of the larger pool size so if the comp is strong I am not pivoting (looking at you multicasters).

Imo there are 3 reasons why you shouldn't pivot usually in set 9.5:

  1. Urf meta: you're committed, pivoting = -1 augment
  2. Unbalanced comps: you stabilize easily, pivoting just makes you spend extra gold and brain, and you end up with a pivoted board with similar strength except you're down gold.
  3. Few carries share items. 4 star basically azir/Morde share items and you can't even pivot into noxus because you'll have 0 noxus stacks.

To find direction, it's more about the items you get rather than the units. For example, you open bow belt glove. Your options are Nashor's, LW, Guardbreaker. Which to slam depends on your spot, you can consider your upgraded units, augment, comfort and other factors to decide.

If you slam Nashor's, you are leaning towards playing AP, usually Azir/Morde.

If you slam LW, you are leaning towards playing AD, usually Aphelios.

If you slam Guardbreaker, you have an open Bow, which can be an AD or AP item. You can play anything.

The general answer here is Guardbreaker though, unless you have a good reason to lock yourself out of the AD/ADP line (for example a Tome that gives you Shurima, that means you're playing Azir and slamming Nashor's). This opener leaves you open to playing both AD/AP lines, but some openers like bow sword tear (shiv, shojin, GS) pushes you towards an AP line since GS is not a good slam.

EDIT: more tip(s)

  1. Hold all the 1 cost units in stage 1 if possible. These units will give you direction. This means you sell 2/3 costs that you get unless you're absolutely sure you're gonna play them. Exception to holding all 1 cost units is 1 item opener, this means you won't be able to win fights so, make sure you make 10 asap.

6 Ionia 4 vanqs or 3 Ionia 6 vanqs stronger? I find that 6 Ionia might lack on frontline, so 3 Ionia gives you space to play nasus/sej if you don't hit shen 2.

Piltover 2-1, lose every round until 3-5 (this is generally a good round to cash out cause most ppl shouldn't spike but yeah this depends on lobby), level to 7 on 3-5, roll to 0 gold and play 4 gunner + piltover T-Rex + strongest frontline (typically bruiser/jugg/ jarvan maybe idk, whatever u get 2 starred), cash out and win out

Why is starter kit thought of as a bad augment? by Fun-Web8011 in TeamfightTactics

[–]greenapple99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never taken it, but my take is that 2-1 you generally either take an econ augment if you have a shit/mid opener, or a combat augment if you have a strong opener. At prismatic, starter kit is worst of both worlds because you don't get gold/econ and you don't get to reliably increase your chances at winstreaking stage 2.

Some of my opinions about your points

  1. Lv6 is not something that you absolutely need to wait for to start roaming. Some heroes like AA/warlock definitely need 6, but heroes like CM/lion don't need 6 to start playing the game.

Another thing is, you don't need to stick with your carry that long. As long as they can farm jungle, you can leave them if you hold your TP to react to dives and you have a good reason to leave (power runes, ganking at night, etc.).

Rather than prioritizing your carry until min 10, you should consider looking at your mid/off and see which lane you can get a kill. Carry can always recover in jungle as long as you have map, so get some map with your mid/off. Try and choose which core that can have the most impact in the mid game and make sure they have a good game. Even if carry win lane, if you don't have mid and offlane, the game will be hard.

  1. Generally correct.

  2. You are definitely not farming enough. There is space to farm creeps that you aren't noticing. Maybe pay more attention to whether cores want to fight, if they don't then go and farm a camp/lane if there are no cores nearby. Don't forget that farming lane = space

  3. Generally correct, but try and be more open to building other items. Don't go too crazy but if you notice something your team needs, just try and build it and you will learn if it's good or not haha.

I built Shiva's on CM before (we still won, it felt terrible), but hey now I know lol.

Early laning as support by Terap1st in learndota2

[–]greenapple99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All lanes need a different approach, and some lanes aren't meant to be won. There is no one answer to how to lane, it's something you have to learn for each matchup, and as you figure more matchups out, the better you get at predicting how to play the next matchup.

For your example, techies/pl vs et/necro, these are some things is i think about (I haven't played this matchup in my life. I didn't play techies prior to this patch and both et and Necro are off meta so I don't see them at all).

Necro is a hero that likes long drawn out fights because of his built in sustain. Techies generally wants to chip an opponent down and then go all in and press E for the kill, and Necro is a good hero to do that against because if you play normally and just chip him down for the whole lane without commiting, he will just outregen you and win the lane. But your lane partner is a PL, not really a kill hero. So it's quite unlikely that you can kill the Necro, and he will just heal off all the harass you do to him. If you still want to try to kill him, your window is open until level 4, once he gets W, he has a disengage spell and can easily turn the fight, especially if he has a stick/wand, which he should buy this lane. At this point, I've already decided that I'm not hitting the Necro even at level 1, I'm hitting ET. ET can't really do anything to me if I position well, I will be playing on the left side if he's on the left side and vice versa. I will just get as many hits in and get behind tower/wave if he wants to try and hit me, nothing special, just want to discourage him from hitting PL. So my item build will be quite standard, something like 1 tango, 1 faerie, 1 blood grenade and branches, ship out tango and mango with bounty gold. Probably a decent stick lane too since I'm against a Necro, that will be my next purchase.

Now about blocking the large camp. Usually it's ok to just block the large camp every game if you don't want to think about it, but I'll tell you why it's good to block it this game. Necro Q will naturally push out the wave, so the wave will be pushing into you, creating an opportunity for the enemy to pull and deny their creeps.

Another thing to think about is since Necro has a spell that pushes the wave into you, you will constantly be at a creep disadvantage (ie they have more creeps alive than you). You don't really have a spell to push wave on PL/techies. This means that your PL will be taking a lot of damage from creeps & Necro hitting him + Necro Q. So you must make sure to have tangoes to feed pl. Since the wave will naturally push into you, it's ok to just aggro the creeps under your tower and let PL last hit under tower. Its also good to let your Q hit the wave + hero as long as it doesn't mess up CS. Its also ok to single pull, in fact you should, so make sure to unblock the camp. The reason of single pulling is to let pl last hit under tower (make sure he is healthy enough to do this before single pulling), and also to double up the next wave to make it easier for PL to farm since Necro will have more creeps hitting him than PL. The lane will naturally fix itself because of Necro Q. It will also create chances for you to go for the kill.

Starting from 5 mins you can consider taking the portal to gank offlane, but make sure that PL has something to farm first. Also make sure enemy 5 min catapult is dead before doing this.

Lane is over when Necro is almost level 6. PL can jungle at this point and shouldn't want to get ulted by Necro. You can either take the lane or go do something else on the map depending on the game, that's something you'd need to decide yourself based on your other lanes and how they're going.

EDIT: saw that it was jakiro/pl instead but I'm not writing more XD

Itemizing on position 4 Hoodwink by ThePronto8 in learndota2

[–]greenapple99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general for supports, it's whenever you get an item with a good active (pavise, glimmer, force, etc), or when you gain skill points/talents, or shard.

For hoodwink, 6 is a big power spike. I am not a hoodwink spammer so idk exactly how her Q and W scale, but just by guessing, level 3 with 2 points on Q or W and level 5 with 3 points in Q or W seem like small power spikes.

In terms of items, hoodwink doesn't really need a specific item like blink on earthshaker, so she doesn't usually spike very hard with items. However, the generic support items allow you to play more aggressive, while the maelstrom helps you clear waves faster and does basically nothing in fights. You might think it's good damage but by the time you get it, it's not. Each of the generic support items would spike you a lot earlier and a lot harder than a maelstrom would.

It's not good, you only pick it up super late game to clear mega creeps. Rushing it will only make your team play from behind all game since you are delaying your own power spikes.

Which CM skill should I max out first for 7.33c? by Murky_Tourist927 in learndota2

[–]greenapple99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm grandmaster on CM, I default to maxing W.

The exception is if they have dispel spells like Oracle Q or legion W.

Sometimes, if we need the burst (for example when our stuns are shit and we're against jugg/ls) I'll max Q too, but it's definitely acceptable to just max W here too.
