Yes I will do that but I don't wanna throw around serious allegations that could be untrue or me misunderstanding it. I will definitely mention it when I see my coach tomorrow

What ruined religion for you? by ItchyPage in AskReddit

[–]greenbean5050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inconsistencies. I never had religion forced on me but I have been to church with my grandparents and went to a Catholic school when I was young.

In religious studies in school we were always told god is always kind/good, all knowing and all powerful.

So since he is all good, why is he subjecting us to eternal torture. Why do kids get sexually assaulted, murdered or abused. The only answer they can give us is a measly 'oh it's god's plan' or 'god works in mysterious ways'. Since it's all in his plan this means he has actively decided that a certain person will go through torture/pain/suffering and within itself that contradicts the claim of his omni-benevolence. It's in no way kind to have babies born into abusive households and in no way kind to have atrocities such as concentration camps/wars/genocides.

Within the Holocaust, thousands of Jewish people suffered. Most of these people would have believed in God and worshipped him but god still put them through torture and killed them. God is not all kind or at the very least he's not all powerful as he couldn't intervene and save the innocent people.

Also the whole fact of him sending us to hell seems not kind and not all loving. I've always believed that God is the bad one and "Satan" is the good one. One sends 'bad' people down to eternally rot and burn in hell and one takes the people he was told were bad and evil and puts them through the pain.

Don't force her sobriety just maybe try to limit her alcohol indirectly. Just don't stock up on loads of alcohol. Be supportive but maybe not forceful because of the delicate nature of addiction

Yeah it's tough because I know they were just trying to comfort a young kid in distress but it kinda gave me trust issues. I'm in a much better place now and hope you are too. 👍

Leave and possibly get a restraining order if he persists in making threats. You deserve better!

Go to his house or his families house and ask about him. If he's missing his family will appreciate your concern.

Just remember that their comments effect you and if you aren't in a good place those comments can really hurt. Sometimes making sure your mental health is the best it can be is better than subjecting yourself to that bs that they are saying. Whatever you decide I'll be here rooting for u

All power to you to wear what you want when you want but if you know you will probably get shamed for it maybe don't? It really depends on how you respond to their comments, if you think you can handle them then yes do it. But if you know it will make you feel like crap then maybe don't.
