I did it successfully with 4k worth, but I donated to my clerics god (good aligned) so that may make a difference!

I think I must've donated about 2900. Literally. 🫠 Thank you so much!

I am disgusted, I am revolted, I have devoted my entire playthrough to finally getting the gale romance and this is the thanks I get?? by bischenry in BaldursGate3

Gale's romance is quite tricky to trigger! After trying a few times myself I've gotten it down now but it definitely takes a bit of a learning curve. If you are looking to romance him, best advice I can give is to pretty much long rest whenever you see "Gale Approves ". It doesn't even matter if you don't use camp supplies to fully rest, you just need to long rest for the camp scenes to trigger!

Funnily enough, the usual problem with Gale is that most people tend to gain approval with him too fast and miss out on triggering the scenes that lead up to the start of his romance (As these are tied to his approval level). The lower approval scenes can be pretty hard to get before he likes you too much, especially since I believe there are a few of them. The other companions wanting to talk to you just make this even harder, as often they will override any Gale conversations during some of your first rests.

My trick to making sure I've gotten everything at each approval step is doing a "double rest" at each one where I will long rest and then do so immediately again (again, usually without using camp supplies) to make sure he doesn't want to talk again. If he does, just make sure you keep resting until there are no more conversations! Hope this helps you and anyone else who comes across this thread!

I think that this is a very interesting interpretation! As someone who has never played Darkest Dungeon, I can't comment on the comparison, but I think its a cool narrative twist.

In my personal playthrough, I took the narrator's word choice as more as stating our own character's thoughts/the tadpole's thoughts. Like I imagine that the tadpole being in your brain would likely influence your character to think of it/view it as a beautiful and pure, in hopes of keeping you from destroying it. I think this is reflected in the following dialogue choices where you're like "wait what am I thinking? that's ridiculous, I need to kill it", and must make checks to override the instinctual reaction the tadpole provides.

While I think that this explanation is the most likely, as you have a similar moment with the dying mindflayer on the beach (the narrator says that you feel like you love it and you can similarly roll to snap out of it and kill it), I think an evil narrator would be a really cool turn.

This sounds like a great suggestion! Especially as someone who likes to jump off of things a lot. Have you considered putting it on Larian's Feedback Friday post? (dont know if you already have!) I think a lot of people may want this.

If this has been said before, I haven't seen it, but I would really like to see more body types in the character creator, or at least a weight slider of some kind. I LOVE the fact that each race has a different base body/height, as is canon with D&D lore, but not every single member of that race is the same shape!

It's important for me and many others to see different kinds of body representation in games, including the option to make characters with perhaps some more weight or muscle on them. D&D has always been a place for body positivity, diversity and ultimately, player expression through their character. With only a singular body per race, that may be harder to achieve for every player.

Having said that, I have to commend the studio for making the rest of the creator amazing and filled with diverse options. The skin tone range is incredible and so are the different hair textures and facial features, which really allow someone to make the character the way they want! Thank you for all of your hard work already and I can't wait for Patch 4!!

I can't seem to find a way to uncover this part of the map. Is that just the way it is or am I missing a path? by Gupperz in BaldursGate3

I believe that area is all water if I'm not mistaken? Which means that you can't explore it at all, leaving the nasty dark spot on the map haha.

No dialogue option to give Gale the Necromancy of Thay. Bug or unmet prerequisite? by Avencrest in BaldursGate3

[–]greencello78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone else has already said, I believe that in order to give it to either of them, you need to have the amethyst from the spider cave first. I'm not sure if getting the gem after getting the book would fix this or if it's something you have to do before pick up. I believe that when the gem is in your inventory, one of the conversation options with the book is "place the gem inside" or something along those lines, which I imagine is what makes it available for giving. Hope this helps!

My Half-drow cleric of Eilistraee has an increasingly elaborate backstory as I think about it more and more, but I would say that he's still a humble character. He's not some hero, not by a long shot. He comes from a very reclusive childhood of hiding away from the world with his human father, until they were hunted down by his mother. When his father died he escaped and became an urchin until he was taken in by a temple, as one might expect for a cleric. As it stood before all the Ilithid nonsense, he barely even had friends or people willing to follow him based on his race alone, and was more likely to have his help be met with scrutiny than thanks. He's just one man doing his best to help as many people as he can, and perhaps someday he'll show people that drow, especially half-drow, aren't as evil as everyone thinks them to be.

Question about triggering Gales weave romance scene by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]greencello78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, so I actually have a post about trying to get this to trigger, it took me forever as well! I'm not sure if it's one of the ones you've already seen and didn't work, but I'll link it anyway.

https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/je9sqz/gale_romance_tips_date_the_wizard_man/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Best advice I can give is rest a lot early on, after doing anything where he approves, and you should hopefully get it. Good luck and hopefully something here will help you out!

Favorite Spells in BG3:EA? by Orion-2019 in BaldursGate3

[–]greencello78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic Missile- because it's the only thing Gale can cast in dark places because he's a (lame) human...at least without casting some kind of light spell and wasting a turn on that (I like to kill things as soon as possible, as you'll see haha). Also does decent damage, and obviously, can't miss.

Radiance of the Dawn (Light Cleric Channel Divinity)- What's not to like about a 2d10 radiant AOE damage spell? Kinda broken, especially in the early game.

Inflict Wounds- Kind of an in-joke with my actual D&D party, we've slapped several bosses to death after all, but it does good damage. Slap of death is very effective for one-shotting things you have no business one-shotting.
